The Demolisher doesn't reach its full potential until its using a Harrier. It seems designed around it. Of course I specced everything out in my passive for more Grenades, so my weapon damage isn't maximized, but I specced that way so I didn't have to live on my Pylon's grenade rationing.
My demo with typhoon 3 and nade cap 5. disagrees with you.
Is it Wrong of me to expect Grenades from Demolishers?

Also, it's not as if I didn't have 255 Thermal Clip Packs. They might just come in handy for all those Platinum games...

Yup, this is actually the biggest problem I find w/ the Demo in pugs. Other teammates start to glue themselves to the pylon when they see it.dysturbed0ne wrote...

I am constantly at 255 in Ammo Packs. When I run out after Wave 6 - I always just start using Ammo packs if I need to and whoever comes by can have my Pylon Grenades. I try not to stand in it unless I'm throwing 1..or 2. Few Spectre/Equipment Packs later - back up there.
Engineers should be support and the OP's demolishers are great examples of bad players.
We are talking PuG's though. If I have the need to "cover" my pylon because it is getting abused, then it is likely that team needs me to be a grenade spammer anyway. Support is one thing, sacrificing my abilities because you like my shiney pylon better than the ammo box is another and THAT is the typical player you run into in PuG's. The OP is an exception. Most of the time as soon as I set up my pylon it's like a magnet and everyone is made of metal.
I'm glad they are eager to help me/the team and are mindful of its support, but they get the mentality that being away from it is sacrilege, and that's bad if that area is about to get overrun- as tactical retreat can be invaluable in this game. Then I start to feel bad cause now I feel like I have to carry the teammates around w/ me- not just my pylon... and the Demo, awesome as she is, can only carry so much.
Staying in the pylon is great if you can afford it, but damn man.. its far from a sacred place, ya know? Maybe there's a hidden -50% common sense debuff from standing in it for pug teammates?

When I play a destroyer, I don't get upset when people use my pylons for grenades. I move around too much to really be effected as there are other ammo boxes in map. You can always recast the pylon if you're really in a pinch.
you sure your playing the right class there bud

usually if i am low on ammo say 3/5 first waves and low on nades due to people hugging my pylon, if i have asked them nicely atleast once and no change happens, i just go away from the team with the pylon for a couple of waves, that usually gets the message around or it gets me "where the **** is our noob engineer going" messages over the voice chat, at which point i stop giving a ****<_<

Perhaps it should be rewarded to the most useless engineer?

i played with a destroyer who relyed heavily on grenades, but ofcourse, not as heavily as i did. we would take it i turns one person fireing, the other throwing to let our respective ammo to be replenished. also seeing as the demo has only one power, you can take advantage of this. there are no other powers to compete for your cooldown times so you can spam pylon as much as possible. when done directly after a grenade drop, you will immeadiatly get more nades and ammo after putting a new pylon down. spec'd properly the pylon can egg out 4 nades in one 3 second burst for when you need them.
in another game i was sitting in the main desk camping with a SE with a typhoon on FBW/G/P. he really needed the ammo, and i didnt as much. so i let him sit on the pylon getting the ammo and i would be next to him getting the nades. i would conserve ammo or use a pack midwave or box an the end of a wave, but had no competition to maintianing my 10 grenades.
co-operation and communication makes it all ok. that said when there is another greande user with low level poor nades sitting on my pylon permanantly, and not listing to what im telling him then i shall take my pylon else where. humph.

It's selfish to expect to profit from one of your own abilities? Even then, if you want to look at it on the team front then arguably only the Male Quarians can make better use of grenades than the Demolishers, thus it is not good practice to sacrifice themselves in order for you to get more grenades that you almost certainly cannot make as good a use out of.
As far as i'm concerned... if I put my Pylon down and move away from it then i'm actively inviting other players to use it when they need to, if they do then fair enough. BUT if I put my Pylon down and then sit on it then i'm clearly wanting to grenade spam and thus do not want anyone attempting to steal my nades. In that situation if people do steal my grenades they are hindering a teammates (my) play and to do so is just selfish. If there was no Demolisher you would have had to go to an ammo box anyway.
Still have to play the Demo (I need to do at least 25 sucesful Platinum runs by the weekend to try to unlok at least all the rare I miss) but I think Dayus is spot on
The big problem is the slooooooow refilling of 'naded, especially on Platinum it's excruciating

so far whenever I see a Demolisher they always go to some corner of the map with their pylon and simply camp there ALL waves. never doing anything else.
I've only recently unlocked the class and they seem interesting. but the few matches I play I try and stick my pylon in a spot where ALL teamates benefit from its supplies and buffs. if you get the grenade pack in equipment I have 10! grenades to toss. and if your using them in situational times and not at every enemy you face I never run out.

while it is true that grenades are the only 'powers' that they have. I dont think its 'essential' for them to be useful. grenades should be used against large groups or tough opponents...

i use the split and incindiary evolution homing grenades, tossing one out every 5-7 seconds keeps me refilled at my 9 nades and i can still be spammy
