Is it Wrong of me to expect Grenades from Demolishers?

As the Demolisher, I can always relocate my candy van if needed (and get the 2 freebie grenades right off the bat). Usually I'm seated nearby anyways, or drop them on top of the infiltrator / other weapon damage classes (I spec mine for weapon damage, partly 'cause power damage is bugged and doesn't affect grenades).

I always share the pylon, not just for the grenades/ammo, but I also try to keep it around teammates for the extra power damage & shields.

Demolishers are the most grenade dependent class in the game - let them have their grenades.

Engineers should be support and the OP's demolishers are great examples of bad players.

They should've designed the Demolisher to restock grenades while having no grenade powers themselves. But once again BW shows that they don't really get how to encourage cooperation.
The problem with this is that no one would be a Demolisher..... not being able to use your own power takes the ******(remember not everyone has/uses the harrier)....however i think he pylon should drop 3 grenades; one that anyone can take, one that only the demolisher can take and one that only other team members can take...or something to that extent

I am constantly at 255 in Ammo Packs. When I run out after Wave 6 - I always just start using Ammo packs if I need to and whoever comes by can have my Pylon Grenades. I try not to stand in it unless I'm throwing 1..or 2. Few Spectre/Equipment Packs later - back up there.

We are talking PuG's though. If I have the need to "cover" my pylon because it is getting abused, then it is likely that team needs me to be a grenade spammer anyway. Support is one thing, sacrificing my abilities because you like my shiney pylon better than the ammo box is another and THAT is the typical player you run into in PuG's. The OP is an exception. Most of the time as soon as I set up my pylon it's like a magnet and everyone is made of metal.

Trouble is, on platinum especially, Demolishers go through grenades VERY quick. The only time I'm EVER at max is between waves. And you can only have 5 clips. If I don't hog the pylon, I run out of grenades, and then I'm pretty much useless.

Agreed on both accounts

No, in that case only people who want to support their team would play Demolishers. And if the other two powers were solid, that might not even be totally true. Imagine redesigning Homing Grenade to be cooldown-based (and renaming it Homing Bomb or something), and giving them Overload instead of Arc Grenade. People would still play that.

I wouldn't.
The beauty of the demolisher is that he can take on pretty much anything in the game on his own. During 'normal' play, I keep my grenades maxxed or close to it. But when needed (hard objective waves, multiple teammates down, ect), I can unload everything to keep myself alive and the team going.
If you take away that unique ability of what is essentially more controlled 'power management,' you kill the class. Just because I CAN throw an arc grenade every half-second doesn't mean I should...I'll be highly ineffective when I run out. But there's no reason to not use powers as soon as they recharge.

Trouble is that findind someone who doesnt mind supporting when playing with randoms is rare, i personally dont mind supporting(so long as the people i am supporting can actually play smart)...but others seem to hate it....that being said the people who play smart are rare aswell....
p.s. i hate overload...

That's what I do too. People seem to understand pretty quickly that if I lay it down then walk off to the side, it's open season on pylon grenades.
Such an awesome support class. It's a shame they made it so grenades dependent itself.

ive got that grenade +5 gear plus enough ammo packs in the bank
to get along, if i play as a demo, everyone can have nades & ammo when they need.
if im out of nades and my pylon doesnt spit out i run to a ammo boxes get some
the normal way. keeping nades 4 yourself is selfish, egoistic & bull****

YOU won't have an option to get grenades or ammo with me on top of it, as I don't even need to move to get them.

Over the Past few days I've encountered some people who simply refuse to allow anybody but themselves have ammo and grenades from their pylon.
On all Occasions I was playing the Destroyer with grenade cap 5 and their were 2 or more demolishers in the team.
My first game which i encountered this was on wednesday, I went to a supply pylon to get some nades and ammo (the destroyer can run out pretty fast), but the demolishers stood on their pylons and shot at me, I assumed that they needed them so I let them take the supplies, except they were being picked up, the players both had full supply. So I tried to get some again and both players came on their mics and began to shout and curse at me saying I should get my own grenades or spec out of them. I said that this is a team game and teamwork is the only way we are going to win this match, it's platinum afterall, they immediately replied by saying 'We are reporting you for being unhelpful team member and you should play a demolisher instead if i want to use grenades, the destroyer sucks anyway Learn to play'
(i was topping the scoreboard).
They proceeded to kick me after the game, so i promptly left.
This happened in about 3 seperate games with different people with virtually the same outcome except others werent speaking like these 2. But they still wouldn't allow me to use their pylons, I wasn't using them excessively or anything, just when nessercery.
I Dont understand, Is it wrong for me to expect some teamwork and supplies when needed? or was I being a prat?
Looking at your multiplayer manifest, I think I've discovered the problem.
Stop playing on the x-box.

I leave the pylon sitting where it is until I put up a new one and don't generally camp out at it

I camp my pylon, but it's only for the shield boost/weapon damage/ammo clips.

I see a bunch of people playing demolisher carrying max weight and I get asked why I only take my harrier or my GPS because I don't have to worry about cooldowns. As usual, people are idiots, because you can keep a constant supply of grenades for you and others if you keep a cooldown bonus and continually set new pylons when it comes up. Many people I see won't even do that when their timer finally clears two minutes after setting their first one.
Uh, what difficulty are you playing on that you'd need a constant stream of grenades... or are you taking into account extreme inaccuracy?
Carrying a reegar carbine is far more useful than an extra 2 grenades every 30 seconds.

I actually never thought about spamming the Pylon. It's such a long, "clunky" animation and she looks like she's laying down a big bag of groceries or something.
Question for you since you seem rather informed about her......if two grenade users are sitting in the Pylon area....who gets the grenades? Do they just go to the one with the least?
