How is the IT still a "valid" form of the ending?

Would any writer make a "false" ending, then expand on that "false" ending, to make the "real" ending?

Because putting 3 months of time, money, and energy into a non-sensical, fan-fic theory that ruins player choice that is so heavily encouraged in a game like mass effect.

This is from the SDCC, at around 6:00, you can see a better version of the flow chart. You see how much work/variables the writers put into the endings under the 2 gb limit, why would they go against their own hard work and say "jk it was all a dream"?

The ec dlc was an improvement on the original endings for a fact. And honestly, if those had been the endings that shipped with the game, I seriously doubt we would have gotten the uproar that fans have created for a better ending.

In fact, the IT would have been a worse ending than the original, as it goes against player choice, which is again, something that is so heavily encouraged in a game like Mass effect. At this point, believing in the IT and hoping it will be implemented to the series is impossible and insulting to Bioware's work. A lot of people like myself have regained some respect for them as they made this a free expansion that specifically addressed the many issues people had with the original endings (normandy escape, god child identity), and hoping they would do a 180 and go against their work is being childish and selfish.

Though I guess delusional IT supporters can't accept this, so they run back to the "evidence" of the IT in an attempt to "refute my credibility" because they can't defend their positions on why it's impossible to apply to the series at this point. Then they hype themselves up by using in-game quotes and emoticons. And they might be hurt about the endings too, so if they accept  that the IT is wrong, they'll be angry with bioware because they didn't put it in and leave them, which is childish.

It sure would be nice, wouldn't it? I think I would fall down on my knees and sob in joy at the beauty of the universe.

Right now, the EC upgrades the endings from "Oh God, please no. Not like this. Don't let it end like this." to "Not good."

ew, why would you do that for an ending to a video game? And no, I enjoyed the ec dlc, as have many others, your opinion does not mean it's actually bad.

It never was, it was always an incredibly stupid "ending". The cult surrounding it refuses to see it as anything other than "zomg awesumest ending evar!!11!1!!1!!"

Prepared to be told it does somehow and/or insulted by someone.

What's with the sudden uptick in IT threads? I haven't been around for 2-3 weeks. Or were they always this common and I simply never noticed because I automatically tuned them out?

On topic, good points OP.

I'm always amazed at how much the IT bothers people.

If people want to believe it then let them, why does it matter?

The IT bothers people because IT whackos push it on everyone else left and right.

Plus, it's stupid. IF, for some asinine reason, Bioware said OH, BOTH THOSE EPILOUGES WERE FAKES at some point in the future, I'd shrug and say 'okay'.

But they aren't going to. Period. And I am content with things as they stand.

And getting really sick of the endless whining from the people who aren't, for that matter.

No, I've seen a lot of IT threads recently too, but I feel some IT supporters are coming out of their delusional shells.

I'm going to say this. I support the IT. It's a good piece of writing and storytelling. It blows the crucible BS out of the water. It's a solid opening to a much better end to the series.

I also do not believe that it is true. I don't think anyone does at this point.

But what also baffles me is how stupid some people can be when interpreting what it stands for. Let me make this clear:

If the IT was true, then the idea is that there is MORE TO THE ENDING THAN THAT. After Shepard wakes up, staves off indoctrination, and whatnot... THERE'S MORE **** TO DO. How do people not get this? We're not saying that IT should be, "Okay. Shepard gets indoctrinated or not. The End. Go Home." While still better than the endings as they are, it's not satisfying in any way.

Because the Leviathan DLC is finished and due out very shortly, and a bunch of stuff from it got leaked which is quite interesting.

Can the people who like this let it go now, please? It's invalid and delusional, and everyone is sick of it being pushed on people.

You guys aren't very bright, are you? This thread was made in response to that statement, hence the quotes around "valid". What makes it a "valid" ending? Why don't you read my post/watch the vid before contributing to the thread?

omg, im talking to trolls, what am I doing?

Of course it's valid. How do you invalidate a dream? They couldn't if they tried.

Can't even come up with a coherent insult, now? Goodness. Logical fallacies seem to take their rather malicious toll rather quickly and severely with you.
