I heard some interesting party banner between the two while I playing through ME2. So I though I would ask, who do you think would win in a one-on-one fight? Jack or Samara?

Well, even considering that in all my playthroughs of the Suicide Mission Samara consistently failed to hold up the biotic bubble, I'm gonna have to go with Samara.

Jack has raw power on her side, but I think she might get reckless and just go balls-out rather than conserve her energy. She's got fangs, but in a biotic battle, Samara has age on her side to outlast an opponent like Jack with smarts over power.

If I had to put money on it, I would go for Jack beating Samara

I bet on Samara. While Jack might have more power, Samara has the experience and patience.

Samara. Jack has more raw energy, but Samara has 600 years of refinement.

If she's got the advantage of surprise, and gets in a solid strike, Jack (but I'd bet that wouldn't be easy) otherwise Samara.

Very slight nod to Jack, given her power and unpredictability might confound Samara's experiences. OTOH, not sure what to say about the more disciplined Grissom-influenced ME3 Jack. If it actually results in her dialing back her wild flinging of powers and makes her more predictable...then maybe it would even things out if Samara has a better read on Jack (as any formal tactics Jack uses Samara will recognize instantly).  Or looking at it another way, would Jack now have learned enough while training the kids to avoid mistakes that Samara would capitalize on?  A good, close fight either way.

Jack And here's why. Having been in many fights I can honestly say the ones who have beaten me were the ones who were unpredictable. The ones that after studying film still were able to surprise me. Samara is very disciplined and poised with great biotic power and experience. Jack, though she isn't 800 years old, has been fighting since a child and trained in survival with overly powerful biotics at her disposal and unpredictability. Plus she can channel rage very well.

Final Verdict - Jack wins, but may die of injuries later.

I, uh, /what/? She had to be unloyal or something. I have NEVER had Samara fail to hold the barrier.

Ever. :|

Same here, that's why I pick her majority of the time to do the barrier.

Jack might be the most powerful human biotic, however my money is on Samara. She has power and most important, the experience.

Isn't she the best choice, in fact? With Jack as a close second?

Jack is very powerful for a human. The most powerful human in fact. But also undisciplined. Sadly the character arc is way too abrupt to take seriously. Psychologcially damaged people with a penchant for murder and violence don't heal up and become teachers and shining examples of self-control over the course of 6 months.

So, Jack is dangerous because unpredictable and powerful. But I don't doubt Samara outclasses her. Every well-trained, moderately powerful biotic might be able defeat her if they survive her initial outbursts of raw power.

Wasn't Gillian Grayson most powerful human biotic?

Sorry, I didn't read the books and forgot about her. Grayson, that was the autistic girl who got an implant upgrade in what amounts to a backyard shed, despite it being an insanely dangerous surgery that even L2s with severe health problems shy away from?

Well, I don't care much for how they add new super special biotics along the way with especially special uber powers in general. That's why I said, I'd assume that a well-trained, moderately powerful biotic should be able defeat Jack.

No idea. I always had everyone completely loyal with no lost arguments after core missions. Legion always died in the vents despite being loyal, only Tali wouldn't get a rocket to the face.

I'm pretty sure Sith are more powerful than Jedi, there are just less of them.

Seriously?? I had Samara hold up the biotic barrier and it worked like a charm. No, squaddie getting abducted by locusts.

That would be loyalty then. You must have missed someone or chosen the wrong squadleader. Bad squadleader or no loyalty = missile in the face.
