If you're here, however, because you think that changing the prevailing opinion on the forums is the make-or-break way to determine what future DA games will be... then you're bound to be disappointed.

To be honest, the future of this franchise and it´s destination were made very, very obvious in the last couple of month. There is not enough set-back to wonder it there´s a change of course.

And it´s sad.

Yes, a black-out period such as this can be a frustrating time if you're waiting for information. We can't go into detail regarding unannounced projects (regardless of how much people think they already know about them)... and, quite frankly, it wouldn't be a good idea at this point. You might say "well tell me just a little bit!" ...but we all know how this works, don't we?

I know. You're right. But one day, one of us will post something like this, and one of you will (by sheer coincidence of timing, of course) post a major video, plot details, companion information, the demo, or something. And that fan will feel like a god.

Feeling the inner-walls of a man´s backside with your tounge is no language, even around here, son. :wizard:

The problem is that for many people, they haven't had to wait this long for DA news. There were very few gaps between content launches.

Dragon Age: Origins: November 3rd, 2009
Return to Ostagar: January 13th 2010
Awakening: March 16th 2010
Darkspawn Chronicles: May 18th 2010
Leliana's Song: July 6th 2010
Golems of Amgarrak: August 10th 2010
Witch Hunt: September 7th 2010
Dragon Age 2: March 8th 2011
Legacy: July 26th 2011
Mark of the Assassin: October 11th 2011

So there has never been more than 6 months between a DA release. Now it's been almost a year, obviously people are getting annoyed but that's only to be expected since there's never been a gap this big.

The Fable series has shown the dangers of releasing too much information too soon about upcoming games. How often did Peter M. speak of incredible game features that eventually did not make it into the final game due to technical limitations? Wasn't it exciting how different Fable III was depending on your Fable II save?

I doubt it had very little to do with 'technical limitations'. The guy simply made **** up on a regular basis during interviews.

The fact of the matter is, Dragon Age 3 just entered production last month. They're hard at work on the game. This is why we're not going to be hearing much about it for a while.

Is that ever not true of a Peter Molyneux game?  Remember Black & White?

I can't remember if it was actually good, or if I've got on the rose-colored glasses of nostalgia.

I do remember it was buggy as hell, though.

Once, I believe you made a post remarkably like the one you wrote in this thread in response to my complaining about BioWare cruelly withholding updates from their fans.

Haha. Not like any of that's false...

That pretty much sums it up I think.

I remember it being pretty good, but I also remember it hardly resembling the game he'd promised.

I'm at about stage 3, although I went more like 2->5->3. So there is now some hope, in other words. :wizard:

Once the game gets released and the full horror is revealed. Or in the case of ME3 a couple of days after when the majority start to catch up and realise you were not exagerating about the ending.

Okay... I admit I'm guilty of this one. However, it's more along the lines of seeing a thread, especially one where most of the posts are in agreement, and endeavoring to show them that no, just because you and a bunch of other people think/feel a certain way doesn't mean it's the only way. Which goes to the next point...

Provi-dance wrote...

Many are constantly invoking how everyone feels? Perhaps I'm myopic, but I'm not seeing this horde of people who insist that *EVERYONE* thinks alike.

Well, if you say so... :) This must be a horrible place for discussion then.

Anyhow, let's assume that what you're saying is true, why would you bother stating the obvious; that not all people have the same opinion about... stuff? Isn't it better to address the subject in question and state *your* opinion about it rather than invoke the silent majority who perhaps has a different opinion? We obviously don't know what the silent majority thinks about the game.

It's not so much people insisting that everyone thinks alike, but from the structure of arguments some people just state their method of play as if it the de facto method for everyone, or is the way that everyone should play, never seeming to grasp that their preference is not that of others.

Yes, it certainly is true, and very accurate, not only on these forums, but in other areas of the internet and real life as well. There are people who think that their opinion, or the opinions of them and their friends, simply because it is unanimous among them, is the truth for everyone, when it is NOT. They do indeed make statements using terms like "everyone" or the all encompassing "players."

And yes, there are also people who think that certain types of players (the most commonly abused are "casuals" and console players) are garbage, that their opinions don't matter, that their spending dollars don't matter, and that game companies should never do anything at all to cater to those individuals simply because it appears to interfere with what they, as a "real" gamer, want.

I don't think many fans haven't abandoned the forums, there just isn't anything to talk about that hasn't been covered for the million time. Hopefully they will make an opened world rpg like Dragon's Dogma instead the claustrophobic environments that I'm starting loft.

So GIVE US SOMETHING ALREADY.

Step 1: Complain about BioWare not giving us ANYTHING.

Step 2: After BioWare gives us something, wildly speculate based on partial information. Just imagine the worst possible scenario and assume it's true.

Step 3: Demand BioWare fix the horrible things you've imagined. If BioWare doesn't deny your rampant speculation, that's proof you're right!

Step 4: Continue complaining until someone from BioWare mentions you don't have all the information.

Step 5: Complain about BioWare not giving the fans enough information

Repeat Steps 2-5 every time any sort of new info come out until... RELEASE IS ALMOST HERE AND THE FLOODGATES OPEN.

Step 6: Complain about too many spoilers on the forums. Demand the mods keep out all this information as it's ruining your forum going and you might have to leave!

Step 7: PREORDER CANCELLED!!

Of course, I also admit to getting a little bit antsy to hear something.  But in the mean time I'm keeping myself busy with Jade Empire, which Steam had on sale for $3.74 yesterday.  It seems like a good use of my time and prevents me from becoming a huge troll.

Wait, so no more of this as a goal for BioWare?
