Supposed to be a secret holden! You just love my Aussie accent. :innocent:

Yum, I do indeed.

Remember that time I asked you to say Miranda's combat lines when we were "moving to cover" on Vancouver?

So I'll just be referring to you as my Miranda from now on.

Except male.

We can keep the butt shots, however.B)

I have a nice butt apparently, but you're not getting any pics of it. :P

Am I gonna have to tie you up again... :innocent:

Hmm...I find myself suddenly wanting a buff to Submission Net very badly. And also to Lash. :police:

No pictures is fine, my imagination wouldn't get such a workout otherwise! :D

They don't need any more buffing, any more and they'll be OP.

And keep that police outfit over there :P --->

Get a room...

You look like a younger Ryan Reynolds...

I've been told I look like a younger Richard Gere, maybe we can join forces?

@Annomander, anything would be preferable to the previous page.

For some reason, people posting stuff like that on public message boards really bothers me. I can't really explain why. It just does.

because it's tasteless?

No it's not that it's tasteless... it's hard to explain.

I just do not like to make a big deal out of my problems, and do not like sharing them with others, particularly random people I've never met and never will meet. I guess it just makes it a bit hard to take seriously when people are so open with complete strangers about stuff they claim is super important to them.

That makes my more cynical side (do I have another side?) doubt their sincerity, or wonder how much it truly does matter to them, which, in turn makes ME feel like a terrible person for always assuming the worst of people, when they're probably totally sincere.

STOP MAKING ME FEEL LIKE A TERRIBLE PERSON, GUISE.

P.S. I hope I don't come off as uncaring or heartless or whatever. That's not my intention.

Not at all, mate. :) At your age (and in our 1st world circumstances; I AM generalizing here, forgive me) you just don't have a lot of empathy stored up. Reason being, not a lot of life's crap has probably been flung your way. DragonRacer on the other hand, while only 27 (I think) has had a parent taken away much too soon. Some of us, know how that feels, or have had a similar situation (lost a child/loved one/friend/contemplated suicide) and can therefore relate more. And we can therefore see the sincerity all the easier. Not a fault of yours, Sirian, more a lack of **** in your life. Something to be thankful for, even if you can't empathize or sympathize (yet).

You've only been registered for 3 days. It takes a week (or two, can't recall) before the forums will allow you to post pictures.

I am most certainly perfectly capable of empathising (saying otherwise is very condescending and quite insulting).

My main problem with things like this is that it is very hard to distinguish genuinely sincere people who just want to talk to someone about their problems, from attention seekers simply looking for lip service sympathy posts.

Solution: if you want to tell someone about your problems, you tell your psychologist, or a close friend, spouse, etc. You should not disclose the information to the entire internet.

You know what, I'm tired of extending olive branches just for you to be an insecure childish **** about it. If you have the empathy, show it! You could at least have said sorry, even if DR weren't being sincere. Makes you the better person in that case.

All of the rest is IN YOUR OPINION. Clearly, not everybody here feels that way, and not everybody on BSN feels YOUR way. Thank God! Now grow a little the **** up you petulant child.

Edit: an insecure, before I get ad hominem-ed about spelling and grammar.

Wait.

Who is the one being petulant and childish here? I don't really understand. I took your back-handed compliment and did not make too big a deal of it, corrected you on something and explained my point of view in a calm, rational way. How is that being petulant OR childish?

You are doing this:

I generally don't talk to anyone about my problems on the net, IRL or otherwise. That said, some people have an easier time opening up on the net under the guise of relative anonymity.

Ah. Are you an Anglophone or primarily an Afrikaans speaker?

Seeing as how both you and the Lord of Oz hail from former colonies, you could unite against the Pomms!

Everyone handles things in their own way. Some people are uncomfortable opening up in public, others are more comfortable doing so. Just differences between people, I don't judge others for doing things I wouldn't do.

If you're uncomfortable with it, just avoid the thread. While I personally wouldn't share like that, I think it was both courageous and refreshingly honest to hear those stories and I appreciate that they were shared so.
