I thought Michael Fassbender as awesome in it. Proper creepy. Definitely a worthy successor to Ian Holm & Lance Henrikson.

Pete Postlethwait is awesome, i'll give you that. Especially in Sharpe. But i'm still not a fan of 3 or Resurrection. They needed more Hudson.

I saw Prometheus a few weeks ago for the first time. I know it didn't get amazing reviews, but i quite liked it.

I liked it...altho I need a piece of paper to write down the links between all the differnet kinds of creatures in the film. Also there were large parts where I had my eyes closed bcoz I'm not great with the gore. The biggest issue I had with Prometheus was that the crew were not very safety conscious for exploring dangerous alien ruins in a first contact with aliens scenario.

A freaky alive alien head?!? Let's bring it on board and poke it, whilst wearing thin scrubs that bacteria and other scary things can easily get through.

Hmm...I have a weird alien lifeform living in my eye...ho hum, I'm just going to ignore it.

Guys, there's something on the motion sensor that's not you! Oh never mind, i'm going off to bonk Charlize Theron.

Prometheus crew...Y u so dumb?

Once again, agreed.

I want to say agreed here, but to be honest, screw those guys. I'd totally be shagging her.

In summary, agreed (mostly :P).

Also, i haven't heard "bonk" since high school. Brings back memories :D

@Twinkles DeVere 5 points! yay!

Have you guys seen Summer Wars? It's cool :D

the only SW movie that doesn't exist for me is Episode I. I'm fine with the other 2.

I only saw Alien recently and found it quite boring... but I love Aliens. I haven't the 3rd one because I've been told it's a waste of time, IV it's entertaining and I have yet to watch Prometheus (I skiped all those Prometheus posts to avoid spoilers XD).

the AvP movie is an aberration that shouldn't exist. 1 alien going head to head with a predator and killing it? No Way

Talking about the newest SW trilogy... can someone explain to me how "Only Sith deal in absolutes" is NOT an absolute itself? Dat hipocrisy, Obi-Wan.

Has anyone watched the remake of Total Recall? While the plot was even thinner, goddamn, those scenes of "The Colony" had me looking for Deckard somewhere in a crowd the whole time.

Not seen it yet. I'm unsure if i want to. I've heard it's closer to the book though (which i haven't read so have no idea if this is a good thing or a bad thing).

Normally i'd say being compared to Blade Runner is a good thing, so, there's hope?

+1 on that.   Blade Runner is awesome, and if you have not seen, you must do so right now.  Ditch work, or whatever else you are doing, and go find a copy.

Honestly, I'd have brought the head back too, but I'd have been more careful with it.  And I gotta go with Hobbit and the captain on Charlize.   Priorites, and all.  The dumb decisions I tend to overlook as a horror movie fan, since they are so common.  But really, you are right, it's a bit lazy.  I mean, the only dumb decision in the original Alien was bringing Kane onboard, and even Ripley pointed that out very strongly to the rest of the crew.

While i agree that bringing Kane back was dumb, i can at least understand it. I can't remember if it mentioned how long the Nostromo's crew had been together, but i'm guessing they had known each other a while. It's often hard to override friendship and similar emotions to make the logical choice. Especially in stressful situations such as that.

Prometheus had considerably more herp derp moments in that regard, but i'm willing to over look them.

Edit:

*SPOILERS* V_Davion, do not read!

For example, discovering a new alien life form (the worm) and the dude practically pokes it. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Seriously, i would not be going near any nasty little worm monsters in some alien ruins on a newly discovered planet, no matter how passionate i was about xenobiology.

Prometheus is veeeery good. Should get Johnny Walker in here, she loves that film.

I actually just watched it like 3 days ago. I thought it was terrible and the 3d effects were lacking as well. Oh well, guess everyone loves something different.
