My God, this place is still on fire?

This all started at, like, 7:30/8:00 am EST when I did a morning check. Engaged in a few shenanigans, then got bored and, you know, went and actually played some ME3 MP for several hours. I come back now while munching on a pizza lunch and IT'S STILL GOING ON.

How long do dumpster fires burn again?

For all we know this might just get the MP forum temporarily closed. :s

This is entirely why we need Non-employee Moderators.

So when Bioware goes poof, Chaos does not Reign.

Don't worry, The Jonhson has already closed one spam thread. I imagine a warning or two went along with it. Things will calm down soon enough.

Also, i don't know if that was intended, but that's a nice little pun there DragonRacer, given the name of the guy who posted the spam thread i linked .

It's always the way. That said shutter island doesn't let you down. I'm hoping Life of Pi is the same, it's one of my fave books ever.

It's not bad at all. It's very well made, visually.  There are a couple of things I didn't like about the transition, (something added, some things shortened) but all in all it did the book justice, in my opinion.

I was so nervous before it started, it really is one of my all-time faves. That said, I would recommend people read it first before watching it.

What was ambiguous about Shutter Island? I thought it was fairly straightforward. Bladerunner is kinda ambiguous with the what is Deckard line of thought...which I like. It's far, far more crazy in the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, too. But I'm a Phil K. Dick fan, great author and fascinating person.

Long story short, a significant amount of idiots were posting spam threads involving titles with lots of asterisks in as they assumed there were no mods to lock/ban them.

Additionally, a rather amazing gender flame war ravaged the forums in one thread in particular. Spilled a little into some of the other spam threads, but mostly kept to the one thread. Absolutely nobody came out of that looking good. Nobody.

Once that thread caught fire, everybody pretty much lost their minds. That's when all the ridiculous copycat threads started popping up. Madness.

It was vaguely amusing at first, but quickly spiraled into something frightening. Like, so bad some of us were concerned the whole MP forum might get closed like the Romance/Character Discussion board did.

It's weird... I saw the thread but I wasn't a woman and didn't know anyone playing me3. So anything I'd be posting there would be off-topic. So I didn't.

But it reminded me that I needed to work on my "break glass in case of mob mentality" case. Consisting of 1 pitchfork and 1 torch.
