Been to London last time in September, first week. Great city, miss the tube. Now I have to drive everyday everywhere, where I live public transports are like unicorns. They don't exist.

I guess it's all about perspective. I used to drive everywhere back in the Philippines. After I moved to the UK, all public transport. But I miss driving so much, it's been 5 years.

That and I don't drink, so I guess that's a big thing too

It's not just that, I don't drink much but I wouldn't mind some freedom in that sense. The worst part is cost. Gas, maintenance, [REALLY] bad roads damaging my tires (had to change 12 tires in two years), parking fees. I wouldn't really mind paying all that if I was making a choice between public transport and polluting the air with my car, but I don't have that choice. Yet we are still taxed and "punished" as if we had it. There have actually been talks about a subway system in the works, but as everything in Italy I don't think they would even start working on it in my lifetime '

Touche. It's hard when you don't have a choice. And that is a lot of tires!

Back in the Philippines, we had a lot of public transportation, but after the I found out that the last cart in the overground I used to take to university had a bomb in it 1 day while I was on it, I decided to not take public transportation anymore
