I have never heard about it, but it sounds pretty cool. Personally, I have never been able to get into RPG games. Mass Effect is the exception to the rule, pretty much. Back before ME1 launched, I was cautiously optimistic. At that time, a TPS/RPG was unheard of, and I didn't know what to expect. But I bought a 360 (pretty much solely for Assassin's Creed and ME1 originally), and was taken over. I still view ME1 as one of my favourite games to date. Easily the most influential. I've never felt the way I do about a gaming franchise, and at times it really scares me. But it mostly arouses me.OldeGrim wrote...

How on earth can you even slap someone with Tuna? Actually, you know what? I'd rather not know. UGH!
Goodness, a review channel. Maybe some day down the line, when I upgrade my webcam and buy games more frequently. This is my first game of 2013, but I only bought 2 games throughout 2012. So I'm a bit picky. And pssh,
potty mouth. Gurl I'm the most well spoken Candian you'll ever come across!
I only got Deus Ex, ME3 and Halo 4 in 2012, and am def getting Tomb Raider this year... and then I'll just be waiting for the next Half-Life to come out...whenever that will be... Valve are so slow![]()
I'm pretty picky with my games too - I don't like COD-style shooters and there's not that many great RPG's/Strategy's/platformers out there. Although If anyone wants to recommend me some, I'd be interested.
LOL I know MANY Canadian's actually! I'd say you're the second most awesome Canadian I know - number one is my buddy Pheebs who is SUPER awesome, so good luck knocking her off the top spot
Oh and for educational purposes, this is a tuna. This is a dolphin. And this is a male horse.
There aren't many good FIRST person shooters, when you think about it. They're all saturated by the market that Call of Duty has milked to death. The only one I continue to run back to and suck its teets endlessly is Unreal Tournament. That series needs a reboot though. Maybe add a story to it. I recommend DEVIL mAY CRY! The lower case is ESSENTIAL. Not that it's a first person shooter, but it's kind of a unique game in a genre that it more or less created and mastered. Think God of War, except GoW is a pretty blatant DMC rip off. Awesome platforming, combat, and very minor RPG elements (in the case of upgrading your character).
Considering you've only known me for, what? A month? Second in command is pretty high up. And I'll continue to rise up, like a disgusting fart. You can't contain me. And if Pheebs is single, give her my digits. Rawr.I'll have to apologize to her personally when I replace her on the awesome scale.
A male horse, you say... ****! Now I'm starving.
And then I looked at the Tuna and Dolphin comparisons. TUNA IS STILL A DOLPHIN. Maybe it's just some sort of unloved dolphin, while the OTHER Dolphin is much more loved. Think we're stumbling onto something here... I should go! (Masturbate-er-cook food.)
As for other recommendations, as specified before, Dishonored looks promising. You shold also prepare yourself for BioShock Infinite. That game will define sky boner.
most FPS suck now!!!!
Anyone remember/ever played Novalogic's Delta Force series? most specifically Joint Operations Typhoon Rising.
My god that was a game and a half! 150-250 player servers. All the vehicles/fun stuff that Battlefield has but they just did it so much better. The maps were essentially unlimited. I remember one time taking a zodiac boat out for a ride, put something on my W key, came back 3 hours later and was still going (map eventually repeats itself but yeah, huge maps, not restricting like BF)
You could take a helipcoper to the enemy spawn points and hide in tall grass (yes actually tall grass that would coneal you) and snipe people as they loaded up heli's. And if you had a Barret you could snipe up to 2 KM away if you elevated your scope properly first for the distance ETC.
Or (my favourite) put satchel charges on a big transport craft, while watching 5 people spend about 10 minutes loading powerful APC's onto it. Then take out my binoculars... watch them drive away and just when they are about to get out of sight, DETONATE.
Ugh. BEST game ever.
Unfortunately that company never really had the marketing power. So while the game was very popular on PC (full servers etc) for a couple of years, eventually punkbuster stopped supporting it and it got taken over by cheaters to the point where if you get online now there are probably just a few smaller "clan" servers with custom maps etc.
Nothing like hiding in the bushes with an RPG while you see a blackhawk helicopter filled with 12+ real human players try to land a landing party on a beach. RPG. 12 kills.
UGH anyone play that ever?!! I miss it. I am so baffled at the crap that people play nowadays, FPS shooters have taken a huge step back! all about graphics and cinematics now, and shoebox maps...

EB games is better than future****! Oh and when I said RPG in that I meant rocket propelled grenade lol. Joint ops was definitely not an RPG game.
I feel the same way though. Very few RPg games have me interested. ME, Assassin's Creed being the exceptions. Hell I even played skyrim but I often don't care much for the story, but more so the gameplay.
And yeah FPS on console suck unless it is **** Zombies with a couple of buddies (for me anyway). But they suck on PC now too since it has all been taken over by COD and BF.
Novalogic was to be releasing Angel Falls. A new and improved Joint ops on a new engine etc but I think they're company folded.
They just needed the marketing! I played the original delta force back in like the late 90s early 2000s and they had 32 player servers back then!
Joint Ops was amazing. Nothing like entering a battlezone with 75 vs 75. No more sniping in shoebox maps but actual long range sniping. You could play in so many different ways.
Sometimes I would just act as a pilot. I would fly back and forth to help get my team mates to where they needed to be a lot faster. And I got really good at giving my gunners (a mini gun on each side of the chopper) really good shots. I'd get first place in a match without getting a single kill but just wracking up assists for dropping people off, and assists off the gunners kills.
Ugh just such a great game, I could go on and on.
I used to love hiding in the enemy main village (there was a main spawn point for each team, then a series of smaller ones that you would fight for, so the main one was usually pretty safe, thats where you'd get the apc's, helos, etc) I would hide with a silenced mp5 and kill 6 guys about to take off in a helo. Then quickly run into the bush and hide in the grass or a tree.
loool listen to me, so excited just talking about it. Miss that game
Oh I definitely agree with you. Futureshop does suck, but they offered me the most money for a trade in for Borderlands 2. EB Games would only offer half that. ($18) **** THAT.OldeGrim wrote...

So I just got back, got everything. Hell, even got a nice new username to coincide with it all.
Rocket Propelled Grenade? Okay, that sounds like a much better meaning of RPG than role playing. I can only say I've never been a fan of the whole zombie shooter theme. I think it's generic and kind of gimmicky. My own opinion though. I am a fickle, grumpy bastard.
I wish games today could do 75v75. I mean Battlefield 3 is pretty impressive, I think it's 32 gamers or something, which is a hell of a lot better than the medium for every other game, but still. It's 2013, I think it's time to up the ante on these pos games.
And here is my video, in glorious s**tty quality.

Both parents are half-Scottish and half-English, and all lines of the family have been in the US as far back as I've gone (1800's).
