It was a pretty sad day, people need to just ignore the trolls a little bit more, and focus on actually enjoying the thread. 

Those are the moments when tact and, more importantly, knowledge about yourself help, bud. I kept myself out of it despite being here and seeing it all unfold because I knew that by involving myself I would let my anger at seeing what this thread became affect what I say, and that most definitely would have been of no help-- both to the thread or my "reputation". The moment I saw that, I fought back the desire to post until it had, for the most part, settled down... by then I could make a comment expressing my distaste for what this thread temporarily became without too much of a risk.

When dealing with moments of stress, anger and contempt all put together, your head is your best friend, not your heart. 

Just ****ing lol to all of this. So hilarious that one tiny little post by yours truly engendered this much hostility from the regs in this thread.

Just wanted to say, I had a ****ing blast and made a TON of new friends in the process, got numerous messages of support from some people you might be surprised by. Has been an amazing ****ing day for me on BSN thanks to that post, had some great games with new friends and laughed about this **** storm like you wouldn't believe. So thanks guys, I am even happier now than I was before I posted that fateful post, too bad you guys can't be too <3

Yeah, you have to go in naked. Makes your nips all angry :/ But it helped my skin a lot, so it was worth it. I n addition to sunscreen, i wore a paperbag on my head. With googly eyes.

You know that skin cancer like really isn't a big deal, right? At least in terms of most cancers. It's pretty obvious when you have it. Like halk my family has gotten skin cancer and it's never been a big deal. Just cut that **** off and go on with your life. And you're not gonna get it just from going outside occasionally.

Yeah, but people less susceptible to sunburns/tans are also less susceptible to skin cancer. Obviously, the risk is still there, but it's lessened.

You have to spend a lot of time under the sun (nearly all day long), and you also have to do it during summer or at high altitude to actually risk anything. You would also need to do it mostly naked. You need sunscreen only if you are exposing a lot of your body for many hours a day, otherwise you are more than well protected for brief exposures and your body will act accordingly. Unless you have some sort of issue, exposing yourself to the sun is beneficial (especially to produce vitamin D). Don't overexpose yourself and you're fine, as with pretty much anything where excess is as bad as total lack of it.

True. It was a completely avoidable argument, and no-one's come out lookin' pretty.

Also, slightly annoyed that after 300+ pages of  troll-free peace (relative to the rest of BSN), someone used the "ugly" word. Well, most posters here have pictures up. Once you start to criticize one persons looks, everyone is fair game. The box cannot be shut. Also what does it matter what people look like anyways? You agree with their opinion or you don't.

Sunburn?  White people problems.  I rarely get burnt.  But I do always see redfaced tourists at the beach.

Besides, sun is good for you too.  Vitamin D FTW.
