DANG EVEN YOU! (i'm joking, i've never understood what some people's deal is ... you speak your mind and don't mince words, but i've never seen you as particularly rude - especially in light of some of the .... behaviour here on BSN.

I think the whole "picture of your actual face" thing is making us turn into real people.... it humanizes each other, makes it less impersonal, anonymous.  It's a damned good thing and kudos to the OP for creating this.  major flame the first several pages - but it really started to pick up speed and did what he actually wanted.


now if only we could get some bioware staff to join in....

Guys - i'm going to tell you your problem right now.   it's your state of mind.   we're so damn lucky as men because women's taste in men varies so much....
i honestly think - and i don't give a damn what you look like - that you are probably either (A) not putting yourself out there... or ( holding back and not showing interest so you give them the impression you're just being a friend.  if you try and move on that point then it's just startling.... but i get it - you don't want to come on too strong and make it come off awkward.
I dunno - i think i've just had good luck falling into relationships just where i meet someone and we hit it off.... but i can be kind of a passionate intense person, so i guess it kind of drives me....  but i'm not good at initiating things.   i'm 29, married with 2 kids -- i've had like... 4 girlfriends not counting my wife (because we were only dating 2 months before we got married.... 6 years ago almost)... and had brief... things.... with a half dozen or so other girls.... but i'm just absolutely terrible at seeing a girl, chatting her up, getting her number, asking her out, etc.  the few times i've tried it it's just gone terribly.
it's always been that i'll just meet someone through friends and we'll start talking, and hit it off -- maybe another time or two after that, then it just kinda happens.  (though one time ... at "Denny's" ... but that's another story for another time)
i think you guys might be holding back on those opportunities because you're afraid of making things awkward.... or you're just not getting out there and meeting people.
anyway - i wish you the best of luck and happiness.  don't stress, you'll meet someone someday - probably soon.
i wish i knew everything i know now back when i was younger and single - had the self confidence / lack of self consciousness i have now....it's just a matter of letting go of fear.

hey dude, i'm representing the husky sector too.   6'1' 250 (though i somehow manage to hide a good chunk of it)....  it was kids... and marriage that did most of it... then the whole getting my legs smashed to bits in a car wreck and leaving me walking with a cane a lot of the time did the rest.
but you know what?  doesn't matter.  i've got a great family, awesome kids, a wonderful wife

and some chicks just dig the big guys.  not all.  but there are definitely plenty of them.

I don't know what the girls think, but you don't look to be the ugly type, buddy.  Ugly is usually defined by as having one or more features that particularly stand out.  An example would be a unibrow, or a complete lack of eyebrow.  Ugly usually requires that you have, or lack, one or more feature in excess of the rest.

With females, the beauty of a woman's face is almost mathematically quantifiable.  The ratios are pretty straightforward, and what constitutes a beatiful face is rather consistently agreed on.
As for what makes a male's face attractive is QUITE a bit murkier, since women do not consistently agree on which males they consider attractive (They have much more diverse "types")

So, rationally speaking there is nothing on you that makes you objectively "ugly", no features stand out from the rest.

I'll get around to posting one a pic sooner or later, I think I'll settle with a picture of my dog in a few minutes.

Ehh, I think it's modern media. I'm no six pack tanned hunk with blonde surfer hair. So that equals a no go for women and me mingiling. Also, I'm no "bad" boy. I'm quite shy, passive, enjoy things such as classical music, and prefer books to beer. I don't drink, smoke, do drugs, swear, or lie to people often. Girls apparently love drunk swearing fist fighters.

Women have vastly different "types", so you definitely fit someone's appearance-wise.  I have a hard time believing that is your problem.
Introverts have a harder time, you just gotta pop out of your shell.  It sounds like that is your problem, get out more!
Anyways, I hav a similar problem.  Introvert, has Asperger's syndrome (Social ineptitude is the name of the game), so I had to learn many of the more common social skills... manually?  Achieved, but missing a few spots.  Can't spot anger or frustration reliably, and my friends tell me I cannot identify a flirt to save my life.  In a way, its kind of fine by me.  I wouldn't know what to do anyway.  Rationally speaking, what is the difference between a close friendship with a girl and a "relationship" as it is called.  There is the sexuality, which if fully relied upon as a drive is doomed to fail, since such feelings are quite fickle.  Not much room for longevity, there.  I dunno, don't understand it.  No inside perspective, so no surprise.
You sure you are not missing a flirt here and there?  That is part of my problem, a couple of girls have flirted with me over the past few months and I did not know until days later when one of my friends tells me "I can't believe you shut her down like that".  I did not notice such any such thing, what is this sorcery?
