I think this conversation is hilarious. Someone is missing the point of both Miranda and Thane's characters.

Very impressive.

I think I'll join Taboo for that drink. We should have a party!

Is Miranda really 36?

I thought she was around Shepard's age (late 20s, early 30s)

I'm going to post this just for you...
"And sorry, but fans completely miss the point on why if in romance, Thane was afraid to die. The reason is losing Shepard like he did his wife. I guess no one refuses the romance scene in ME2, but thats why he was nervous. Shepard can point this out in ME2.

Someone being afraid to die implies they want to live. Thane is given a reason to want to live on.

Have you seen Raquel Welch? She looks great and she's in her seventies.

It's all about how you take care of yourself.

She's also been made that way.

Wouldn't most people look pretty good as they aged? Gene therapy was pretty common among Humans in the ME universe.

Some here is missing the "why" to the reason he wants to live.

I think the only legitimate gripe Thanemancers have regarding Thane's death is that the death bed dialogue is practically the same regardless of whether romanced or unromanced, and no one on the squad acknowledges Thane's death. They should have had the oppurtunity to roleplay their Shep as the grieving girlfriend.

They lose me however when they complain about the fact that Thane died. Curing Kepral's Syndrome would have rendered his entire plotline in ME2 pointless.

Niket chose not to believe in his friend.....the confidant he had as a child. She asks him, "why didn't you call me...ask me." (yes, I am paraphrasing...don't have the dialogue lines in front of me), and he just turns it around to 'why didn't you tell me ahead of time.' She is doing this FOR her sister (does she gain something for herself...of course.)? Anyone who helps a family member/friend/lover/spouse is doing it for them AND for themselves....and thank god for that. Humans don't generally act unless they see something in it for themselves. Selfish? Maybe, but it doesn't matter......it is human nature nonetheless. We better those around us, and ourselves.....or at least that is our hope.

I will just say this....Miranda was not well treated in me3. I find her (as I do with all ME characters) compelling.....and this just left it.....flat.

Thane is afraid to die. If you're afraid of something, you tend to want to avoid it. So like, not-dying. Which means living.

If you want to interpret just a weeeeeeee little bit, you might think that he wants to live to be with Shepard, and for the sake of Kolyat.

If you want to interpret just a tad bit more, you might think he wants to live to help with the fight to save untold billions of lives across the galaxy.

But of course, that's just space magic, right?

Watching that scene with the prayer book today is just devastating.

It foreshadows me picking Destroy, that's for sure.

THAT is art Bioware.

Actually, that's exactly how I saw it, which is what made it all th emore tragic for me. Hearing his last prayer for Shepard, and how he looks away for his last breath, I could sense the regret he had in leaving a friend during his most important battle, and all the talk about being ready to die was so that Shepard wouldn't worry about him and could focus on the Reaper threat

The only dioalogue that was the same was Koyate's intro and the prayer itself. Why do you thing BW need an entire new prayer for the people who romaced Thane?

It does for me.

The prayer is for my wickedness that is to come.

Thane had a better send off than EDI/Geth did in Destroy.

Then you agree with me that what the prayer is about is open to interpertation. What it means to you doesn't mean what the creator intended for it.
