I decided to wait for rescue and at first sent in Morrigan and Dog. I made it past the checkpoints without confrontation, and then proceeded to kill everyone in the Fort.

When I got to the cell with the Warden and Alistair, it wouldn't let me pick the lock. I got a speech option for Alistair, but it wouldn't let me talk to him. My character is sitting in the cell and is uninteractive.

I loaded the autosaves several times before giving up and deciding to try bringing Leiliana and Morrigan. Again, I made it past the checkpoints. This time I did not kill anyone but the people required to get to the cell. The door still won't open.

Is there a fix to this at all? It was a great time until I did the same thing over and over, then it just got annoying. I've seen other people with this problem, but I can't find a solution.

If the quest is just broken on PC, can I just escape myself or is that part glitched as well?

Many thanks!

EDIT: I also do not have Zevran available if you need a different rogue to pick the door :<

IIRC, some people, long ago, had issues with a mod (something to do with?) and this error. Check the Solution Roundup, linked below in my sig. I think there was an entry towards the bottom of the first post.

I have no mods, DLC, or anything else installed. It's a completely vanilla game :c

Also, both party members show up no matter what. The only problem is that the metal door won't open/a cutscene won't play? This is my first time playing through the game; I'm not sure how it's supposed to go.

Uh.

Stop waiting for rescue and bust yourself out?

Make sure you're running the latest patch (1.05). You may also want to check the Dragon Age Wiki for advice. If you still think there's an error with you installation, you need to post back with your specs (see the Read First) thread towards the top of the forums for details and how to check your version/patch number).

I did that.

It's just kind of annoying and I wanted to see if there was a fix in case I ever do that quest again. :<

And yeah, the wiki has no advice. I've checked through that. I've just seen other people with the same problem that gets fixed, but I haven't found the way to do it yet =P

Thank you for the help, though!
