Trying to edit a .utc file in 1.01, but toolset crashes whenever I save the file

Hi there.

I opened up designercreatures.erf from the main campaign, and extracted merc_human_captain.utc from the erf.

I then reopened up the merc_human_captain.utc into the toolset, and tried to change the chest armor into the arm_cht_mas_drb.

But whenever I save it, the toolset crashes.

Can anyone tell me if it's a problem on my end? Can you please go through those steps and tell me if your toolset crashes as well?

The same thing happens on any other utc file that I extract and open up. Whenever I edit and save it, it crashes! :(

Please, your help would be sincerely appreciated.

We partially solved the problem,i've managed to mod Zathrian, Greagoir and Kolgrim(along with their AI) so far. However party member .utc files don't seem to work.

Edit: If you want them to use different abilities, you'll have to edit the source AI files from the toolset and then compile them with the excelprocessor located in the toolset

With version 1.01 of the toolset, you have access to these creatures in the toolset directly, so you don't have to do messy editing of the .utc file with the GFF Editor. You can just open the up in the toolset, make the changes you want, and then export them from the toolset. Its a much cleaner and more user friendly process.

In house, we do very little editing with the GFF editor, it is used more frequently as a "viewer". I have filed a bug about the crash, but you should be able to do what you want without using the gff editor now anyway.
