So.....apparently this class constitutes an insta-kick on gold now, no matter the weapons/gear/N7 rank/whatever.
I'm on Xbox an i've been kicked 10 times in a row trying to play a game with this class, i'm running a Piranha X. Been kicked from my own hosted lobbies 3 times, and even been kicked from FBWGG games.....
The key word in your paragraph is Xbox.

Paladin, Demolisher, Destroyer, Fury & Shadow. Only the Slayer is out of our favourites for plat.
Even the weapons are from Earth DLC. Typhoon & Piranha mostly, but the Frury wears Acolyte & knows how to use it. Maybe we will be kicked from game that is hosted from someone else

Paladin is the first and only Earth DLC new player I've unlocked, and I really enjoy it. It took a bit to get used to the shield (I was expecting to be able to move slowly and be able to shoot like the Guardians do, but I got used to it). Snap Freeze is awesome, and thought I'd pair that with the fire shield thinking first snap freeze then burn, but after reading here, I may change that to freeze. Had a really good match with an N7 Shadow, we'd run around, I'd snap freeze a group of lower end troops and they'd follow in with a shadow strike and I'd mop up a few with the shield melee. It's a really good support class if anyone likes that sort of role.

To bioware devs that means a recycled salarian engineer with a short range cryonics blast and a flashy heavy melee.

Not to criticize the build but if your Paladin does not have incinerate, he will be very ineffective at distance. In gold, our team needs to have range as we switch tactics depending on the situation; hence why no MIC will most likely get you 3 red X's. I've played the Paladin and will role a Harrier, Saber, GPS, Carnifex....... (weapons that have a short to mid or a mid to long).
But, if you entered match and gave a sound explanation on you chose a weapon on a short range power build class that is only effective at a 3 meter range, we wouldn't kick.

I play on the pc and I've been kicked for picking the destroyer, more than once I may add. Just showed me how utterly retarded some people can be,
Might have been because of how weak the missile launcher can be, but the multi-frag is epic.

I don't want to make this a platform war, but on PC I've never been kicked for picking a class. In general, if you have a bit higher N7 ranking then people will give you the benefit of a doubt from character lv.16 upwards, no mods, on Gold.
In fact I've just done a Platinum run (FBWCP... not the most glamorous, but ok for Baby's First Platinum I guess) until wave 10 as a lv.19 Paladin, placed first by virtue of tech bursts/cryo spam mostly. No kicks.
I feel for you, man. class discrimination sucks, I only kick people if they don't seem to have any idea what they're doing on Gold (a vanguard with predator II + scope + berserker); on Silver never and for any reason.

I haven't been kicked once, and I've been playing Paladin all week. But hey, just another thread for PC players to spew their nonsensical stuff about how they live in Awesometopia, where nobody is kicked and everyone's farts smell of butterflies.

Come on now, we have our fair share of rude players/failbots/exploiters etc. A few weeks back I even saw a missile glitcher. It's not paradise, but all I can say with 100% certainity is that I have never been kicked for choosing a class, and have never kicked anyone for that myself. And I tend to play "inferior" classes like the Paladin, Slayer, Krogan Soldier, Batarian Sentinel on Gold all the time.Nissun wrote...

I don't even have the launcher specced, even uninformed gamers I have seen avoid that ability like the plague.

I kick them too. Especially if they don't have mics.
Paladin sucks badly at pretty much everything compared to the other classes.
The Salarian gets a Decoy that doesn't actually hurt the user...
All the other N7 classes are much, much, MUCH better in almost every aspect.
Its a team support class that is only good if you're team actually works together instead of running around like a bunch of headless chickens.

Thats definately true, when the team works together, i can really help as the paladin, but if everyone runs around like idiots, we all wipe.

Yeah, and I've intentionally run with some ludicrous setups myself, and never EVER been kicked for it. And I play on the Xbox.
The people that play exclusively on PC don't know how playing on the xbox really is, so all the bad things they hear are the only thing that sticks in their minds. And you know why that is? Because that makes them feel superior.
And since they live in their little bubbles of awesomeness, they don't stop and think "Hey, maybe I am being rude to somebody. Could it be that I am being a discriminating ***hole for a childish reason?
This whole thing is like walking up to a person of a race different from yours, and casually saying "You know, I've heard that crime rates are higher among your kind that among mine! Also, did you know that our IQ is also statistically higher?"
Now how does that sound?
