Ok, so your having a problem, or a slew of problems and you want your DLC!!! Here is how to get everythign to work if you are using steam.

• Install the game (probably done already)
• Launch the game
• Log into your EA account on the game
• Goto the DLC page in game and hit refresh
• Download all the DLC and wait for it to finish
• IF it goes to 100% and sits, just let the others finish for now.
• Now, if it is at 100% and sits and all the others are isntalled, exit the game. EXIT steam, I mean exit completly, not minimize to the icon menu
• wait 5 minutes, start steam
• Start the game and log back into your account if you didnt set it to automatically.
• They should be extracting now, if not, redo step 7 and on
• Finally, once everything is installed, hit redeem code on the main DLC page in game
• It will take you to a website, copy and paste each one of your steam CD keys. Only 1 of them should do anything (the preorder one) but might as well do them all anyways just in case...
• Now, go back in game and refresh your DLC, check your downloaded list (yeah, those don't download they just install) and you should have whatever promos you had from preorder

Thats it, EVERYTHING works... happy gameing

By the way, your DLC does add to your character if he is already started, I tried it, it works. Also, the tomes, you have ot use them, then exit the inventory one at a time.
