I just got the slayer today, while its not really my kind of chracter I did have alot of fun with a blast radius speced disruption ray or whatever, being able to blow guys out of cover from across the map was intesting just took some getting used to actually having to you know...'aim' with a power.

can you tell me , what is your spec please? Now I am trying to make Vanguard for BC and light attacks.Seems like risky fun to me. 

Also for Dismember (fan of thrash metal band?). If you use ability which is boring to you, why do not you use another one? It is easy to spam Slashes like mad, but nobody force you to do. Seems more like a problem of worrying about getting killed, when using another risky but fun ability.

Also if you think that 90k on gold is too much, and class is "broken, which for me definitively is not the case here, how about another ones which scores 150k +?

For me, vanguard is good. If you do not like Slash, do not use it. If you do not like Distruptor, do not use it. And use only teleporting and melees. But in that case, why will not you choose totally different class then.

Dismember is a reference to my WoW main, Eldismember........... and honestly, since this thread Ive got the paladin and the demolisher, both Ive went 110k plus in silver lobbies with. Faaarrrrr  more broken

Ummm ok, opinions are like a**holes everybody has one, third time saying this in this thread, as such im entiteled to my own opinion. Doesnt mean I have brain damage jackass

It's not boring if you know how to use it.

It can be even more effective than a manguard in crowd control and tanking when played right.

You should try the demolisher+cerberus harrier+pirahna=what were they thinking combo.

Once I got the Slayer, I havent had a better time in the game! Sure, I wasnt Top O' The Scoreboard, but I was having giggling fits bamfing around meleeing people (on Gold nonetheless!) And the ability to Bamf back 10 meters really helped me when I could tell the slashing was getting too hot.

Im sure spamming biotic slash is boring, it got me off of the Ex-Cerb guys because theres only so much smashing I can take. But If you entertain yourself with a balanced build between stuff you might have a better time with the guy.

Then again, maybe he just fits my playstyle better than he fits yours...

Refer to my previous posts, I respeced to a melee setup and while it is much more fun as you stated, not as effective as Ive found it. Hes not a bad character for lower difficulties for sure

I would agree with you if not for 2 reasons

1: I love biotic explosions and the sounds they make

2: I havent touched the asari adept since the demo haha

I find the slayer pretty exciting. I like to use the piranha and bio charge into groups. I use the stagger extra people option on bio charge then shotty them when they fall.

I used to like melee runs but I find the heavy melee animation takes a little long at the end and leaves me open to other enemies nearby. I prefer to spam the light melee then bio charge or teleport back to safety.

High risk and high excitement, but easy to get it wrong and die being pretty squishy.

I have much more fun slinking around as a shadow and doing a similar thing though

Earlier today, I charget at pyros and tried to finish them off with heavy melee. But 4 out of 5 times, it did nothing. I had them locked, but the melee did not teleport me, and the sword never reached them. It was very unreliable.

Everybody know if this is a thing? Or did I just have a particularly sh*tty morning?

If you want to heavy melee them, you have to wait 1-2 seconds when they are standing more steadily, but before they open fire. If someone lies at the floor or is staggered, you just teleport in the same place and do nothing.

I like to play "Charge the banshees and Phantoms" and have only been instakilled once so far (bit of a laggy connection). It's a lot of fun! Plus teaming up with an adept and using biotic slash for masses of explosions... yay!

N7 Slayer is meant for trash mobs. Phase Disruptor few times from range, charge in and PD again. But this class is host dependent, otherwise your PD will have 1 second delay between each shot. Combine this with Scorpion and Phantoms are piece of cake.
