aye, love Shale's voice. I think the the voice actor was mentioned somewhere in these forums, apparently it was a female can't remember the name though.

Corinne Kempa and Claudia Black are my favourites to listen to, although the former has a couple lines where she sounds like she's just reading (lacking inflection/emotion), and the latter I really could've done without the sing-song whiney tone on the "'Tis cold in my tent" bit. In terms of emoting, I agree with the OP whoever did Isolde was fantastic; she really sounds like she means it. On Shianni and Hespith, is it just me, or do they sound like they could be the same voice actor?

Least favourite (sorry, I can't post on favourites, without mentioning this, heh) goes to the pseudo-French accent on several of the Orlesian women. Really, a misplaced American accent would've been better, especially with Marjolaine speaking opposite Leliana where the accent on Marjolaine was just grating and distracting. A very low point for what is otherwise a well-voiced game.

Melissa Disney....er wrong game. Seriously though, I like Corinne Kempa's "Leliana". The Sister that gives you a blessing in Ostragar was really well done as well, although who that was, I've no idea.

Bioware has always never failed to amaze me with the talent they can get for their VOs, from baldur's gate Minsc (Jim Cummings) who according to IMDb also voiced for DA:O (trying to figure which random NPCs he did) to Aribeth deliciousmarmalade's VO (Wendee Lee) who I suspected did Bella in DA:O, to Kotor's Bastila Shan's VO Jennifer Hale (Also Commander Shepard in Mass Effect) though missing it seems in DA:O (booo!)
Though in DA:O's line up, I have to agree that Isolde's character was so well done that you immediately get the picture of a spoiled Orlesian brat and though at times you just wanted to kill Connor just to teach her a lesson, the emotions she expressed when pleading for Connor's life had enough impact to give me pause and softened my heart. I did go through with killing Connor once just to see what happens...never again. Superb acting on all parts.

Lelianna's performance too had me go back in memory lane and images of Imoen floated to the fore and I thought, this would be Imoen had we been able to romanced her in BG. Though Melissa Disney wasn't there, I could almost hear that line, "Heya its me, Lelianna...." Corrine Kempa did a great job, she'll *always* be my love interest when I play a male character.

Simon Templeman (Loghain, Caladrius and various minor characters), for above mentioned reasons!

er well my favorite would of course have to be alistair, but in all honesty i dont think there was a single "bad" voice throughout the entire game. no joke. even sidequest npcs or temp ones like cailin, cousland family, etc were well done. well even the shop npcs were done well, i'd say. you can tell there was really a lot of effort put into the dialouge and voices.

No - there is ONE bad voice - Valena, the Smith's daughter in Redcliff Castle, everytime I open that door and she screams like I poured boiling oil on her I wish I had the "punch in face" option. My husband laughs because I instantly start saying horrible things to the tv.

There's no way just one is the best, but ...

Alistair (Steve Valentine).  Try telling him it was too early for him to kiss you when he does and tell me that you don't feel like you just stomped on a puppy and kicked it a few more times for good measure (YES I just had to see how it played out) .  Whether he's happy / sad / embarassed / trying to be suave he nails it perfectly.

The entire main cast is superb, I could listen to them for hours - and I do!
Not in the main cast : Ser Bryant in the Chantry at Lothering.  Posted Image

But....He's voiced by the same person who voiced  Vaughan Urien.....Surely that is unsettling:blink:

Swoon alert -> no, no - tell Alistair that you don't know how you feel yet, and then he gets all bold and grabs you and kisses you and asks if it is too soon for that, always answer with you're not sure it needs more testing. *sigh* yeah, how can you NOT romance that??

Most people think this VO is the worst, but my favorite VO is arguably Leliana's (with Alistair a close second).

They need a good thashing with a nerf bat, Lelianna's great as she is.

Hmm let's see...

There are some voices I can't skip everytime I play the game.

Mom, Ser Geilmore and Fergus from Human Noble origin story, Lily from Mage origin story. Lady of the Forest also has very enchanting voice.

For Major cast I think Morrigan is the best. Leliana and Wynne close to her. Alistair has really good voice over but at some points his voice drops/out sync the emotions of conversation (Especially I hate that "I like the way I am" part about being a toad. His voice drops to bedroom talk level in a second).

From player sound sets I think Human Male Wise and cocky are the best ones. Never played other races or females much so no comment on those.

Definitely Claudia Black. Morrigan has a number of similarities to Aeryn Sun, and it's a type that Black plays VERY well.

Valentine also does a great job as Alistair with all the one-liners he tosses off, and the remarks he makes when he's at very low health. Although the "YYYeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEES?" he does occasionally when you click on him tends to get annoying after a while.....

Love Oghren, too. He just SOUNDS like someone whose been through too much and keeps getting back up for more.

Granted I don't like Loghain the character, I thought his voice was perfect. I never played Legacy of Cain so this is the first time I'm hearing Simon Templeman in a game. I could be wrong though.

Hmm, until you brought it up I hadn't made the connection between the two voices.

As Vaughn, yes, unsettling.  As Ser Bryant, hardly.

Simon Templeman, no doubt. He's fantastic in almost all things he does. I thought was Claudia Black was quite good as well. Some of her reactions are perfect.

Lol, I love how she says Teagan, but I'm really laughing at how bad it is not that she is talented. o.O

Of course, being totally in love with Alistair, I'm going to have to vote for Steve Valentine. The way he says his lines is just perfect for me. Even throw away lines, like when you click on him after the joining while he is walking away. Perfect mix of comedy and emotion in his voice.

Steve has a really sexy voice.  For appeal I'm going with him.  But my favorite voice acting for the coolness factor comes from First Enchanter Irving.

Very much in agreement.  I noticed that Lilly (Jowans love interest in the Chantry) had very much an Aribethian quality about it...brought back NWN memories of  "I must speak with you!" Posted Image

Arl Howe definately. Tim Curry does such a great job at creating that character that at first, I couldn't even tell it was him.

Leliana - Corrine Kempa brings her to life so well. The sweetness in her voice when she's talking about things from Orlais, and her complete innocence when talking about certain subjects, like the woman who can tie cherry stems into a knott while talking with Wynne. The best has to be, when she is telling you that she likes you and when you tell her that the feeling is mutual how she gets all flustered with you for not telling her first.

A slight nod to Oghren because for the first time in his life, Steve Blum voiced a character that wasn't just his own voice. Of course you still have to put up with hearing Spike Speigal/Kazuma/The Negotiator/etc.. whenever you walk past the dwarf in Denerim.

And the guy that voices Jowan so well that I wan't to slaughter him every time he speaks. Unless of course that is the way he actually talks, then I wan't to rip out his vocal cords so he can never again punish people by having them hear him speak.

Steve Valentine and Claudia Black are tied for number one, in my book.

Followed by the voice actors for Oghren and Shale and Leliana

Alistair is really hit or miss. Some of them are delivered really sympathetically and others are just like... what? Like the way he goes "Your wish is my com-maaaahhnnd" when you're romancing him. But some of his other lines are really well delivered, like all the emotions he goes through if you ask him to sleep with Morrigan.

I like Branka, Oghren and Morrigan the best, I think.

I love Steve Valentine's voice, but I start picturing Nigel from Crossing Jordan if I'm not looking directly at the screen when Alistair speaks. Despite that, I think he did a great job.

Claudia Black rocks, no matter what. Morrigan isn't a digital Aeryn Soong, nor is she another Vala Maldoran. She's her own kind of twisted. ;)

I <3 Oghren and Zevran and Sten. Lel kinda gets on my nerves. But then, despite studying French for 12 years, I've never found a French accent particularly appealing. Wynne and Logain were also great.
