Now as you all know BioWare is preparing to release the single player DLC "Leviathan" adding in a rogue reaper which quite frankly breaks lore.

Not your lore, not your call to make.

Except BW DID make it lore that Godchild controlled the reapers. To circumvent it they either need to show that he was lying (a middle finger to fans, only adding to the contrversy of the ending) or to simply break current lore without explanation.

Agreed, the concept of a 'rogue reaper' immediately contradicts the whole "I control the reapers" crap that the catalyst says. It also makes the 'Control' ending make less sense, since if the Catalyst didn't have absolute control over the reapers, how could Shep? Like I said, its just there to make Synthesis more palatable by making the other possible endings seem worse.

I hope this is a joke thread... But i wouldn't put it past BW to break their universe.

If this is the only thing to the DLC then it'll be the first that I don't purchase.

actually it doesnt break lore at all since there hardly any reapers lore on them and god kid was harbinger as we all know and i like to say hello if it wasa rogue reaper it would indeed not want to be known to the other reapers since its lore says it killed another reaper, and other thing is that harbinger  was missing before the ending after he attempted to kill us and failed, so yea the reapers are not exactly a hive mind, but i think it  more each  reaper is a hive mind of  all the creatures that it took to make it.

so we are dealing witha reaper that killed another reaper for reason we have no idea about, so saying  that the dlc would go against reaper lore is not  true

*facepalm*  The "catalyst" is so obviously a lying bastard that I can't imagine how anyone takes him seriously.  You guys think it's breaking lore?  Did you wonder why this lore-breaking thing was "leaked" at the exact same time they added that "I am teh hive mind of teh reapars!" nonsense?  Consider for a second maybe they're trying to tell you something?  Maybe you shouldn't trust Casper the Genocidal Ghost?

Sorry, but the Extended Cut made it clear that the whole "Catalyst is a lier!" thing wasn't true. It is just terrible writing, it isn't some grand conspiracy with wheels within wheels.

A playable brute or banshee would be fun just take away the sync kills and add the similar moves probably downgraded some or balanced out and it would probably work fine

Right.  Even though they've specifically told us otherwise.  As in Chris Priestly literally saying word for word, "The IT thread remains here as it is a valid possibility for the end of the game."

Look, if you don't want to pay attention to the story, fine.  But you don't get to rant "it's p00r writing" while doing so.  EC changed nothing.

Uh... no.  Bioware did not make it lore that the godchild controlled the reapers.  They made it lore that the godchild claimed to control the reapers, however there is no reason why anyone should believe a word he says... he's in the midst of a war, is capable of deception, and has his own agenda.  Do you know what propaganda is?

I did pay attention to the story. I noticed how inconsistent and bad it was. That's great that CP said that about IT, but I see it more as appeasement than anything else. Saying that the EC changed nothing and still believing in stuff like IT is just putting your head in the sand. Now, I'm off to play some MP and continue to ignore future SP content.

Isn't it just pathetic how literalists always expected IT'ers to completely abandon the theory if BW says no, but if BW says "maybe" they refuse to accept it and claim it's appeasement?  Unintentional hilarity FTW.

Heh... hehehe... hehaha....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

At this point I stopped reading.

This makes even less sense then Protheans in MP.

My question to you is... do you even know how Reaper forces work?

Understand that by themselves, Reaper footsoldiers aren't much of a threat. Much of the higher cognative ablities that make is possible for living beings to be autonomous is removed. The Reapers require absolute control of their forces. Nothing is allowed to think for themselves. The Reapers think for you. Those Marauders and Banshees you see are nothing but empty shells devoid of all thought processes. Nothing more then remote controlled animatrons.

How do you suggest that a Reaper footsoldier spontaniously grew a brain and can suddenly think for itself deploy in battle alongside other freethinking soldiers? Not likely from where I sit. Reaper ground forces are a hive mind. They obey the signals from the Reaper Destroyers and Capital Ships. They cannot think on their own.

I wouldn't know, I was never against IT.

Edit: Though, I guess I find it 'pathetic' that there are still people that cling to IT after the Extended Cut, but there will always be people that want to believe in conspiracy theories.

What do you mean through what he was already controling the collector general from dark space he never needed a specific device to control any of the collectors and the collector general.

Why would the rogue reaper be huskifying people? Or are you saying that it'd take control of already husked forces?

Yeah, I agree.  Makes me glad I'm smart enough to understand the difference between writers foreshadowing a plot twist in a piece of fiction and an actual conspiracy.

You keep waiting for that twist. If it eventually comes, I'll make sure to apologize.

So you are saying that the Godchild, the centrepiece of the ending and the reason everyone has claimed as the biggest plothole is nothing but a lying bastard meaning that-no matter what you choose or when-that you still all get raped by Reapers, you know because he's a lying a bastard meaning that the ending is EVEN LESS MEANINGFUL AND A GIANT MIDDLE FINGER TO THE FANBASE AND A SPIT IN THE FACE OF MASS EFFECT?

Do you guys puposefully try and downgrade games until you hate them to this degree? Or are you guys just THAT DAMN STUPID?
