So you are saying that the Godchild, the centrepiece of the ending and the reason everyone has claimed as the biggest plothole is nothing but a lying bastard meaning that-no matter what you choose or when-that you still all get raped by Reapers, you know because he's a lying a bastard meaning that the ending is EVEN LESS MEANINGFUL AND A GIANT MIDDLE FINGER TO THE FANBASE AND A SPIT IN THE FACE OF MASS EFFECT?

Whoa now, calm down there champ, use your inside voice.

There is no evidence that supports the assumption that the child controls every reaper everywhere however there is evidence that he does not.

1.  The Illusive Man proves during the course of the storyline that Reapers can be controlled on a large scale.  This is supported by the fact that once the Reapers became aware of this plan (and how successful it had been thus far) they tried to shut it down immediately by assaulting Sanctuary.  Assaulting sanctuary would have been pointless if Cerberus' plan would not work... and in fact their plan does work if you select that ending.

2.  The reapers have many of the same flaws the Geth do though the reaper flaws are much harder to exploit given their advanced technology, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.  Perhaps the Geth find a way to utilize the information they have as a result of their intimate association with the reapers to turn the tables and control a small number of reapers the way they once were controlled... or the alliance pool their resources and assault a reaper digitally utilizing geth knowledge and hardware, attack VI's or black ops AI's, and any number of other options to overwhelm a reaper into submission.

3.  Last but not least, the reapers are described as being sentient.  By definition that means they are capable of independent thougth and action.  It's not beyond the realm of possibility that a splinter faction of reapers exist that have a different agenda.

Lastly, it doesn't really matter if the child is a liar or not, Shepard isn't an idiot... unfortunately what he did in the endings was incredibly stupid...  I mean seriously, you choose one of three choices based wholly on the information provided by a being that has murdered trillions upon trillions of beings and anticipates doing the same to humanity and everyone else?  That would be like Shepard fighting his way to Saren in the first game. handing him his best gun, and asking Saren to watch his back for a couple hours while he took a nap.

Here's a paraphrase of the final choices...

"Congratulations on making it this far Commander Shepard.  You now have an important choice to make.  Please press J1 if you would like to be disintigrated by a giant laser and attempt to control the reapers.  Please press B2 if you would like to be disintigrated by a giant laser merge all biological life with synthetic life.  Please press Z3 if you would like to destroy many of your friends and allies and commit genocide against entire races of innocent beings.  Oh, and the reapers will die too."

My Shepard would have never agreed to any outcome that he or she could not hold the child accountable for.

Do you guys puposefully try and downgrade games until you hate them to this degree? Or are you guys just THAT DAMN STUPID?

What are you talking about?  I don't hate ME3, I hate the ending and I hate it when people try to claim something cannot happen because it would contradict the lore when nothing could be further from the truth.

Can someone explain to me how the Leviathan (Reaper) is rogue? According to Balak it indoctrinated Batarian military officials so when the main Reaper force finally came they basically greeted them with open arms. Helping the invasion doesn't sound like something a rogue would do.

Hmm, playable Reaper troops huh?

I won't be reviving them. I probably wouldn't be the only one either.

In the meantime, why not make the Collectors playable as well?

"I'm down, revive me!"

"LEAVE THE DEAD WHERE THEY FALL."

I'm don't make a particularly big deal of the lore in MP, but after playing from ME1 to now there's no way in hell I ever play as a reaper (lol guess which ending I didn't choose)

I am so over the SP campaign.

For real, I haven't even played single player since the first time I beat it months ago =/
I haven't even bothered to download extended cut yet, the game was nice the first time through but I don't feel up to any more playthroughs like I can with ME1 and 2.

Clearly he's a complex and nuanced character.

Like James or Jacob.

There are three equally terrible choices, the ending you didn't choose is irrelevant :)

We can't explain it to you because the Leviathan of Dis (as it was named by the non-reaper races) may not be Leviathan the reaper.  According to unofficial sources after a 10 second google search, Leviathan isn't a rogue reaper so much as an exiled reaper because it destroyed another reaper.

Mmm, no. Maybe, MAYBE have collectors join the fight, but not sure of that either. Now that N7 characters have joined the fight, I'd rather see Council SPECTOR classes Salarian STG, and Turrian Cabals show up.

Well, I liked it, BUT how could Bioware put Reapers against Reapers? I mean, Bioware could/will release a DLC from a Rogue Reaper on SP Campaign. But how does ONE Reaper change the allignement of other Reapers? And I think that the Brute wouldn't work as Vanguard because, a Vanguard has to have a Biotic Charge, not a Melee Charge, and Biotic Powers.

Now as you all know BioWare is preparing to release the single player DLC "Leviathan" adding in a rogue reaper which quite frankly breaks lore. Anyways with that thing shattered into non-existence I thought I'd look on the bright side: a friendly reaper means friendly reaper forces...

Would be nice to see maybe playable Reaper FORCES.

Marauder with Armour Plating (buffs allies with armour plating providing 50-75% damage reduction, 25% more health and extremely reduced movment and dodge speed), Marksman (you all know this) and "Frag Grenade" (you all know this) would be nice. Maybe with "Reaper Upgrades" as his passive racial (giving +50% weapon damage if specced right) and Reaper Upgrades (giving a rolling dodge mechanic maybe?)

inb4No

Freindly Marauder Sheilds had me until reduced movement and dodge speed. My uber squishes like the Shadow and Fury depend on their speed and agility for their survival and characters like the Destroyer already moves slow enough with zero agility as is.

A reaper not working with the reaper isn't necessarily lore breaking.

Yeah, the reapers are working for an AI that states that all living life must be exterminated for its own good.

They could just.... Turn off the extranet.

However, a playable Ravager might be a little insane. Or a playable anyhusk, really.

No no and no. This is a terrible idea. It doesn't make sense and now people are just grasping at straws for new playable characters. I'd rather see protheans before playable repears.
