I don't have the Typhoon but from what everyone is saying, using that and Devastator Mode specced for fire rate will be like 10 times better than using a Particle Rifle. I'm still using the PR till I get a Typhoon, at least.

@ Transairion: The best classes for the PPR would seem to be classes that don't particularly rely on power usage to be effective. It will be more effective on the Human and Turian Soldiers than on most classes, because it's hard to go wrong with Adrenaline Rush or Marksman in combination with any weapon, really.
I've also tossed it on a Krogan Sentinel with a no-Incinerate spec, and it does definitely benefit from being on a class with lots of tankiness (so you can maximize your time-on-target with the "hot" beam). A theoretical Krogan Soldier with no Carnage could do the same thing, although he'll lose some DR.
Um... what else? I've seen defensive AJA suggested before, and the idea has grown on me a little (although I haven't personally tested it). Another interesting concept is a Geth Engineer with no Overload, since Hunter Mode boosts your damage and RoF--and also gives you the warning you need to charge up before engaging.
Beyond that... everything relies too much on powers (Adepts, Engineers, most Sentinels), on burst damage rather than sustained time-on-target (Infiltrators), or is too fragile (Adepts again, Drell).
[Note that I haven't unlocked any of the N7 classes, so this doesn't apply to them.]

I'd only counter-recommend this because of stun-lock, which cripples a Krogan that isn't the Vangaurd. Being stunned also stops your PPR firing, so you have to get to charge-beam all over again.
I tried it on this class and got randomed Geth... yeah it didn't go well, good luck to you if you try it lol.

I don't ever play Krogan (or Batarians, or Turians) on U/U anymore. Consider my post amended: don't bother using Krogan anything + PPR vs. Geth.Transairion wrote...

In fact, I probably wouldn't use PPR versus Geth at all.

I am curious as to what classes this weapon synergizes with well. It would seem wise to use it with the Destroyer combined with is Devestator mode ability. Any suggestions?
did a gold match against reapers on rio and was using a turian sentinel. its the best class for me to use it on.

@ Xaijin: A 300% buff would leave it doing in the neighborhood of 4000 damage per second. No, thanks.

umm 238 dps even at x 4 Overclock does not equal 4000dps. It's supposed to be one of the best weapons in the entire roster and the best AR period. It sure as hell isn't right now. It's a horrendously bad weapon.

I vote this gun one of the worst. Did next to nothing to brutes and banshees. It even took too long to kill husks. I was better off Meleeing.
