Trying Tali's recruitment mission but it seems impossible with Mordin and Miranda, specifically right after I pick up one of either of the two demolition charges. I chose them because they use tempest submachine guns and have that tech upgraded to 3/5.

On insanity those Geth Primes have so much defense stacked that they can take everything we throw and walk up to my position at leisure and get me. Or I can place us all at different points and watch as GP walks to each of them, destroys them, and leaves me for last.

I would have thought they would be great for this mission for their weapons strength and larger ammo clips, but we are simply being overpowered by triple defense Geth Primes. I don't want to have to spam six medi-gel or waste Cain to win, because that's exactly what it would be.

It is not a easy, but you can do it. Use the "q" and "e" buttons (PC) on the Geth Prime, to order squadmates for focus fire, use Miranda's overload (against shield), Miranda's warp and Mordin's incinerate (against armor) immediately after cooldown. Use your own powers to damage the Prime's protection (i don't know your class), and use the proper weapon (fast fireing like submachine gun against shield and slow fireing like pistols against armor) intensively. When the Prime is at health, use Mordin's cryo blast or Miranda's overload to disable him and finish him. This is your first insanity run i think :)

Squadmates have an inherent weapon damage reduction (about -50% weapon damage) so their weapon damage is inherently worse than Shepard's.

This is your Sentinel playthrough correct? (I am basing this off a post of yours about 2 weeks ago.) If you have your own Overload, you may want to use that instead of your squadmates since you can use it quicker. Same with your own Warp if you have it. Or you can keep re-casting your Tech Armor which will reset your squadmate cooldowns so you can spam their powers some more.

I do not really know how much I can help you. Some of it is trial and error, some of it is skill, and some of it is luck.

Here is Trinity82x with a Sentinel and Garrus and Mordin as squadmates.

I did this some time back with my Sentinel:

Abused the Tech Armour power reset and the explosion. I don't know if my armour was maxed by then (I am fairly convinced it was) and the passive I went for was Raider. I went for Assault Armour on the final evolution because it gives you more damage and more shields than Power Ammo if you do the maths.

Funny enough I brought Mordin too there. Garrus instead of Miranda, but I was using his Overload (so it shouldn't make a difference) and sometimes Concussive Shot to experiment with the shatter, although I ended up giving up the Concussive Shot idea.

Lengthy description of what I have done in the video page.

Thank you all for your supportive posts, I'm still working on it. Mostly my problem is that, on this second run, I've dedicated all points toward defensive priority. So Miranda does not have the class squad upgrade that increases weapon damage for all squad, and Mordin's class upgrade only gives him more health.

Watching the video's now to see what I could do. I have also begun to think that those medi-gel cases were placed there for good reason - the developers must really have known that this is a danger hot spot for insanity. Oh Samara, if only I'd picked you up first! Oh Jack, if only you weren't so squishy I'd pick you for squad warped ammo.

I actually did this mission with Jack and... Miranda? I think. Still worked out well.

With Miranda + Jack you do: Miranda's Overload - Jack's Pull - Tech Armour reset - Miranda's Warp to detonate Pull. Area Overload and Area Pull work well.

I don't know if you are on PC or XBox, but on PC it's like playing a piano (or a keyboard, excuse my pun) you just constantly use your skill reset. Also in that run I use the Medigels once (it used two since I was ressing both companions) and it was to get my squad mates up, not to heal myself.

Don't be shy about using your shield as a weapon. I purposefully let it explode as it staggers things (less incoming damage) and deals damage to them. Just keep an eye on when your Tech Armour is about to get off CD as that's when you can run out and let it explode because you can recast it straight away.

Last part of the mission: I always go to the right hand side and try to push on as much as I can to try and reach the spawn fast so I don't get overrun by Geth. With my Vanguard is a bit easier as I can charge directly to the Colossus to stop the smaller Geth from spawning.
