What's your method of dealing with enemies that can grab you like Atlases and Banshees if I'm rolling with a light, weak weapon?

I run with a pistol and smg normally, pistol for guardian shields and the smg for the rest of the time. If you want to deal with enemies that can grab, you can still charge them, just make sure you instantly dodge backwards! I've played a few matches and charged banshees 7 or 8 times, only got grabbed once because my timing was off.

Hell, I'll charge phantoms, dodge back, and heavy melee them. If they're not dead, dodge back again, charge if you need the barriers, otherwise heavy melee again.

I find it best to hang back and spam Phase Disruptor. If playing with a team wait for it to focus on someone else then rush in and dodge back spamming phase. The addition of armor damage on it can really do some damage with the boost that power synergy gives you from the charge.

He dies so much and his heavy melee for some reason misses a lot and it seems like he has zero shields even when I spec for full fitness.

Same. When the Heavy Melee works, it's fantastic. But it's very difficult to control. I have no idea why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Situation 1: be standing in front of a target, hit heavy melee, and I teleport behind the target and melee it for massive damage. Amazing. :wizard: (Or I hit it from the front—either way works well, though hitting it from the angle I'm already at is less "dramatic.")

Situation 2: also standing in front of a target, hit heavy melee, and... perform the attack in the air for no damage. :pinched:

Doesn't seem to matter whether I'm right up next to the target or further away from it... Sometimes it does what I want it to do, sometimes it doesn't. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason for its behavior. And it's gotten me killed numerous times when it doesn't work for no apparent reason.

I mean, when my Krogan Sentinel's heavy melee doesn't work, it's obvious why: I missed the target. I know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it (aim better :) ). But this?

I did the build 6/0/6/6/6 and I aimed more for shields than melee in fitness.
I first tried the build 6/3/6/5/6 but I never used the Phase Disruptor, so I regretted it and changed the way.

Same. Disrupter just didn't seem worth it.

Abusing Phase Disruptor is definitely the way to go when invincibility frames aren't required immediately. It staggers everyone in the radius and does good damage.

I found the problem (or one problem, anyway) with missing with heavy melee is when the target is knocked down, you won't teleport to them. So if I charged them and knocked them down, I'll dodge so that they have time to stand back up before I slice them right up.

Turning your back to walls to teleport is the worst way to do it... You do know that side teleport works just as fine, right? The character's heavy melee also teleports you forward, negating the need to lose precious time turning your back.

I don't know that I agree with the build, though. Skipping melee evolutions on a melee-centric character doesn't seem optimal. Fitness's value decreases a lot on higher difficulties, too. Biotic slash is such a great ability, also. Only putting 3 ranks in it just to get 15% power damage... I went 6/6/4/4/6 for that reason.

Why does the OP take armor dmg instead of shields on the palm blaster? Does anyone else find this to be the better choice?
