Not the only voice actor from Futurama in the game, by the way. He does a terrific job in any case, fits Jack perfectly.

There are also two Futurama references that I remember. One patient at the Santa Monica clinic is suffering from "sexlexia", and you also get to use one of Zapp's pickup lines (it doesn't work, obvously).

I read on some forums that even elder vampires have to get a gigantic roll to make someone do something against their very nature. I guess all the hard work you had to do to get that key made the roll for LaCroix's dominate too high. I mean doing all those errands were something totally different than giving him a key that may just destroy your character.

Other forums have said that LaCroix is lying about his generation. I mean Nines, Gary Golden, and Isaac don't seem like they are even all that old yet they run their own sects. It is kind of believeable that a young vampire coaxed some elder into becoming a head of the Camarilla.

Others have said that the main character's sire was very powerful which was why LaCroix wanted you both dead. The character could've also have grown extremely powerful after all the time spent. I mean you get several wierd artifacts that artificially increase your powers.

That's all very interesting.

I felt this odd sense of loss about the sire- someone who did something horrible to you, yet his death left you bereft of a mentor and friendless.  I felt that most after I tried to send Heather away and thought how alone my character was.  Even when Heather stays, she's so mindless.  The other ghouls aren't quite so abject.  And then again in Hollywood when you come across a friend from your previous life.  That was a fantastic scene, great voice acting.

I don't know. Maybe, just maybe the other anarchs didn't know about it. But Jack does represent the Anarchs and despite their BS about not having a leader, he clearly is someone the others look up to.

As for Jack himself, of course you can't stay mad at him. He's adorable! He should have just asked me though and I would have gladly helped him get rid of the prince.

By the way, I agree with you about the anarchs having the best music. But really the soundtrack is just awesome in general.

I always assumed that Jack acted alone, in terms of the LA factions.  He didn't seem to be sharing too much information with the others, and he doesn't try to prevent the anarchs from being destroyed.  LaCroix says something about the fact that when he shows up somewhere, chaos follows.  It also seemed to me when he was laughing about how easy it was to get the factions to turn on each other, he must have meant the anarchs, too.

Yea that was a great moment. I RP that Angela shed a tear before feeding on her friend (but not killing her) to uphold the Masquerade. And while she was nice to Heather (in a weird twisted way), she generally felt she was alone, which is why she was intrigued by VV who she can see as a friend or even lover. Even as a Ventrue, my Angela, much like VV, tries to be humane and appreciates beauty in all things.

And I agree with you that Jack, while perhaps idealogically an anarch (though he does say that labels like this mean nothing to him), doesn't seem to care about it as a faction. Indeed, it was a pawn in his game like everyone else.

Now I wonder who was the real magnificent bastard behind all this. Jack, or the mysterious Cab driver who seems to know everything aabout Kindreds. Who the hell is he anyways, I read that there's speculation he is Cain himself.

I still raged when the Kuei-Jin killed Heather.  Heartstrings engaged, I guess.  VV told me off and I don't even remember what I said to "insult" her- should've picked the line to call her a stuck-up Ventrue b*tch.  lol

And then I even had to kill Chunk.  *sniff*

I think Salitha's best friend in LA is Fat Larry.  :wizard:  "Baby girl!"

Yeah we talked about this upthread- people seemed to think no.

VV is a Toreador no?
I liked her, she was pretty representative of Toreadors if taken to an extreme. Vain and kind of cheesy, but also the most lively, passionate and humane.

I definitely did not kill Chunk, used dominate then avoided him for good measure. I liked him, he was kind of adorable in a dorky kind of way.

It's heavily implied that Fat Larry is a masochist, involved with Venus (who probably wants to take out her frustration at someone after having to sleep with Boris)

I still think it's true!

All his lines are in the gamefiles in the directory "Caine" and a Malkav will... well... "recognize" him or at least think it's him and freaks out and Auspex at least marks him as non-human.

Last but not least Rosa has a line in her augury that goes like "Why is he smiling? Is it- is it the father behind him?". I my mind that references the endings where we can see the cab driver standing behind Jack who is smiling while the Ventrue tower lights up the night sky.

Oh, maybe.  I thought she was just very presumptuous.  True that she is one of the more humane characters.

Bummer that you don't get to flirt with many men in the game and almost all the blood dolls are women.  I did hit Romero, but reloaded since you miss out on the firearms bonus if you do that.  Priorities.

I definitely did not kill Chunk, used dominate then avoided him for good measure. I liked him, he was kind of adorable in a dorky kind of way.

I tried to dominate him but alas he came around a corner shooting and I had no choice.

Oh that's alright.  He's got personality.  ^_^

VV just uses your character for her own ends like everyone else in the game. She uses Seduction on your character, if your character is Malkavian you can call her out on her BS and if your character is a Toreador, seduce her yourself.

At least there's still Jeanette.

Well for VV's seduction part, it works XD. How can a Toreadro seduct her btw? I recall there was 1 or 2 seduction lines and they were just heavy flirt lines. All i got was her poster. (which you cant have in modded version, you can only get it after Gary's quests)

I like Jeanette but we need a "back up" when we dont let her live.

Anyone else creeped out just wandering around the underground lair in Hollywood beneath the cemetery? I got a heavy Fallout-Ghoul vibe from hearing the whispering and voices. Then again I play Bloodlines with headphones on so I'm assuming thats just good audio.

Oh, that makes sense, and also why I was immune.  :)

Essentially, it's use and be used for WoD vampires. Every Kindred in this game uses the fledgeling to get something and still remain in shadows. The sad part is, if your vampire lives long enough that is, that the same fate of becoming a manipulative elder awaits them at the end :(

Pisha was my favourite character. She was so eerie, but had great insight.

And the way that even she was spooked by some unseen horror gave me the creeps for sure.
This is what  I miss from the World of Darkness, this inexplicable dread of the apocalypse that supernaturals and mortals alike were experiencing.

I could never take Gehenna seriously. Garou's apocalypse felt threatening, but Gehenna made no sense in the context it was presented.

Late to the party but I just want to add that VtM:B is one of the best gaming experience I'd ever had. Yep, it was full of bugs and clearly rushed at the end. Still, it contains some of the best writing I've ever experienced in a video-game and the Oceanside hotel is one of the best game sequences in the history of gaming. It's really sad that we will never see another AAA game like that (but maybe with kickstarter... well, at least we can dream).

Brian Mitsoda is great, can't wait for Dead State.

Game is really starting to lose my interest now. Quests are far less interesting, and the plot just seems extremely generic at this point. I'm at the start of Hollywood for reference.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire Santa Monica sequence, but it seems to have gone downhill since that point. Hopefully it picks up soon.

Hollywood? Just wait till the Tzimisce join the fun. Because it will be "bloody" awesome if they do

How? Are you not interested with the "movie" storyline? I loved it and most importantly I loved the Toreador stripper NPC (can't remember the name right now). But yes, the best part of the game is Santa Monica.

Santa Monica is definitely the most iconic of the locales. I loved downtown LA, looking at the skyscrapers with that music filling in the void of the eternal night, eagerly searching to sate my neverending thirst for the sanguine delight...

Sorry, I think I lost myself for a second there.

Hollywood made me feel glamorous. I think was a bit desensitised towards Oceanside hotel, because of Shalebridge Cradle from Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Romero's quest made Hollywood for me.

I also liked the gargoyle quest, though that was a tough fight.  I almost had the thing talked down then admitted I was a Tremere.  /famous last words

VV's quests were annoying because I found her annoying.  I did like... what's his name, the former movie star that you have to help escape.

Hollywood made me feel glamorous.

It made me feel dirty. You've got a strip club, a strip club/porn video store, and all sorts of nasty unspeakables hiding in the shadows.

I did like... what's his name, the former movie star that you have to help escape.

That would be Ash. Had to end up going the sewer route, though it's not too challenging.

Hollywood had it's shining moments. I think of The Lucky Star motel as the second, shorter version of Oceanhouse. Creepy atmosphere, two gruesome murders and the guy at the front desk is writing tales about vampire society.

But I think I like the search for Barabus best. "Van Helsing" test anyone?
