A pet is still part of the family. They hold more importance than strangers do in comparison.

Certainly. But you'd still keep your pet parrot in a cage and keep your indoor cat from going outside even though it would do it if it had the chance.

But they always come back. Every pet wants freedom, but quickly misses the comforts of home. That's why they always return with their tail between their legs, hoping for penance.

It's rather Kindred that are the animals, a big point of the game is trying to keep the inner beast at bay and stick to your old humanity as much as possible.

To think otherwise is to follow the Sabbat, who are all utter monstrosities.

And despite a vampire's supposed superiority, if the Masquerade were broken all Kindred would be wiped out very quickly.

Well, Jack is a good example here. He looks down on humans and mentions that he think the Kine can sink or swim for all he cares, and yet he has not love for the Sabbat's ways. The beast doesn't necessarily make the Kindred feel less superior.

But Jack also realizes that a vampire is nothing but a monster and you should stick to the last vestiges of your humanity as much as possible.

A Sabbat revels in its existence.

You're very mistaken. The argument you're making is akin to putting chickens on the same level as humans. They're food. By that realization alone they are inferior. In an event where the camarilla were dissolved, the primogens would either sire like crazy, or I don't know, do what the anarchs have been doing before Lacroix and uphold the camarilla out of common sense.

Play a toreador or a ventrue. Their vampirism gave them more civility then they had as humans.

Jack, like Nines, is his own man. That means he holds everyone and everything with the same amount of disregard. He was a pirate after all, do it's not like he's a saint. Santa are animals because their primogens and antedeluvians were. Jack criticizes the camarilla a lot, but notes the importance of vampire society to maintaining civility among kindred. He doesn't give kine asecond thought.

Whatever an "advanced" vampire might think, someone recently turned would remember who they were and be able to see that what they are now is enslavement. You can react to that by paying the enslavement forward, which is probably a healthier course, but also by being unwilling to play the game.

Though I do see that you're truly damned if you do or don't. The dialogue options to talk to Heather are just so odious to me, though. Here is where I'm hitting some railroading that I don't like. Also that you're forced to rat on Nines. Funny that Jack called me out for being a fangirl for showing such concern about that. ROFL I love that guy.

There's a reason the Nines bit is forced. It makes perfect sense, and even if you go to the bar before Lacroix Jack suggests that you have no option but to tell Lacroix. Other than that there's no real railroading. There's a lot of options, even little ones like killing Chunk in Santa Monica if you want and meeting his brother at the Venture Tower.

I was also a bit annoyed that you couldn't just neglect to tell Sebastian about Nines, but I suppose they must push the story forward there.

Anyway without revealing too much, you do at least have some vital choices to make later in the story. I love the different endings, and yes, it can end very badly for you in more than one way. Luckily the game rewards you for paying attention to the clues served to you throughout the game, and it really is your own fault if something unfortunate happens to you.

I'm sure there's a story reason why they push you there. It would be different if Lacroix thought you were the killer, but since there's a vampire hunter to blame it on, it did seem forced. Oh well, small quibbles, still loving the game and can't believe I'm so absorbed into a vampire game. I've been complaining about Skyrim's DLC because I normally am not into vampire lore.  It's just that good.  Image IPB

Nines is certainly the most badass NPC in the game. Especially considering a certain action near the end of the game (which is, arguably, kinda lorebreaking).

Interactions with all Brujah Anarchs as a Malkavian are a hoot, though. You can tick them all off like no tomorrow.

Jack is the most badass NPC in the game. Not only in words, he is also older and stronger than Nines.

I'll agree with you that the particular action you're talking about is a bit lorebreaking, at least for one so young.

I like the anarchs, though. They're speaking my language. Down with the Man! Even when he's undead.

So I finished my Malk playthrough! Now I f*ckin' love Smiling Jack (Anarchs ftw!). Now to do a Ventrue playthrough as a Dude.

Also, quick question, I get distracted around VV (Nika Futterman's voice makes my toes curl) is she Anarch or Cammy?

Well, she's friends with Isaac who's the Baron of Hollywood (and Baron is an anarch title), but she doesn't really seem to care about politics...so I'd say anarch in name only (definetly not Camarilla, given her friendship with Isaac).

Isaac says he considers her to be his childe, so her loyalty definitely leans toward the anarch side.

I have just recently noticed a dark shadow with red eyes watching me. Anyone has the same thing happen to them? I play Gangrel if this is of any importance.

I chuckled when I realized Romero is the same voice actor as Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I shot zombies for him.  You can seduce him yourself and make him a blood doll if you're a female PC, but then you don't get the guns bonus.  His pickup lines are hilarious, though.  Worth it if you don't use guns.  edit- There wasn't a YouTube video of this so I uploaded one myself.

Really?  lol  He does a great job.  I love how he says "A lot of these undead used to be **** celebrities too.  Bonus."
