Generally any Soldier although I haven't tried the Vorcha or N7 choices of Soldier yet.

I'm kinda the opposite. I don't understand shotgun infiltrators. Tried using a GI with a Claymore and I epic failed at killing. =/

Oh wait, I can't believe I forgot this: N7 Shadow. I understand it requires restraint. You can't novaguard at everything you see. You must pick and choose. The enemy only knows you're there because every time one of them wanders from the pack, they're never heard from again.

I lack this "restraint" thing.

I felt like this at first too, then I stopped trying to play hiim like a Shadow.  Rely more on your gun (I prefer the Phirana.)

The hardest part is getting used to his melee attacks, which are both somewhat buggy, but most of all have a very narrow forward arc in which the attacks will land.  Buggy in that I noticed if you attempt to heavy melee immediately after biotic charge, he does not move forward at all with the HM, the teleport affect still occurs, but you stay in one place.

For me:

Batarian Sentinel.  Or pretty much any character without a combat roll (Turians, and definitely Krogans.)  Also I was terrible at doing any kind of melee build or melee based class... untll the Shadow, which is now my favorite character.
