There is an option to have the game automatically pause before you go into battle. That's excellent, but I've played the game completely through four times now and I've only lost three battles. I can handle tactics on the fly now and am not really fussed by it.
What the game really needs is an auto save before each cutscene triggers. For whatever reason I've had a fair amount of difficulty with cutscenes in this game. I think I'm selecting one option, but another winds up being picked and similar issues. While I know where most conversational time sinks trigger now, it would be nice to be able to save the game and have the option to retry the dialog you just blew automatically.

Thats weird, on the Ps3 version at least, the game autosaves usually before a boss fight or a big cutscene.

I wish it would on the PC.

Hmmm interesting point. Of course, I'm hitting F5 every two minutes so it's seldom an issue for me personally.

Best way to avoid that is use the numbers keys to pick your options, not the mouse.

I agree it would be a nice feature, but if you F5 like a compulsive freak you will be fine. Just learn to hit that button any time you do something you'd rather not have to do again. And before opening doors. Or turning corners. Or breathing loud, lol.

F5 is a dual edged sword tho if it is your only save - what happens when you F5 after you THINK you made a good decision and find out ten minutes later you really wanted to make a different one.
Generally speaking relying on quick saves and auto-saves is less reliable than making real saves often (and not overwriting them until you are certain you won't need them)

I wish it would autosave immediately after a cutscene. If you go straight from the cutscene to a difficult battle, and die, then you have to play through the same scene again, making all the same choices (or different ones), then replay the fight. Not so much fun when you just saw the scene a moment ago.
