I have the same problem: been trying to connect to the server for hours now. Still haven't been able to play ONE game this weekend. Good to know its the event weekend too. -_-

I've been trying to get connected to the servers for WEEKS~

Got this twice tonight.  Once at least was early, the second of course on wave 10.

Bioware, please at least change the code so that rewards are saved to the account when they're earned and not just if we're lucky enough to get to the score screen without a disconnect.

Also, when tallying up the number of successful missions for the event weekend, try counting wave 10 disconnects.  You might find we hit the target.

This is getting absolutely ridiculous now. The EA servers are getting worse and worse as the days go on I swear. Back when the first patch was released this problem popped up for me. Now I can't go more than 2 seconds without getting booted from the game, even games /I/ host. If I play a private game with just myself I can 1/3 times complete said match, but if someone joins or if I make the match public might as well not even bother because I immediately get disconnected. This is infuriating and the way the servers are deteriorating makes me believe it'll never get fixed...

I am looking for where you would actually talk to or communicate with a Customer support person. If you spend real money to buy Bioware points and loose them, you should get them refunded. I have never encountered a purchase system that had no actual support. I also keep getting disconnected. If you used purchased stuff and get booted due to a disconnection or game crash you loose it without recourse. Is it possible to get help actually?

I completely agree; this is ridiculous!
My rant on how EA turned my relaxing day off into a frustrating mess follows:

I didn't work today so I planned to spend about 4 hours playing to buy at least 5 or 6 primo specter packs. After losing my connection to the server several times I actually started to keep count...

I've
now played for close to 9 hours and have only been able to purchase 3
packs.  Not only have I "lost your connection to the EA server" FOURTEEN times--yes I said fourteen--ELEVEN times it was during a mission
Twice I was lucky enough to have it happen before wave 5, but all the
other times it was somewhere between wave 6 to 9 where I've already used
my 3 medi-gel packs and missiles, not to mention all the XP and credits
I lost out on. Oh! and lets not forget that each time the load screen pops up
I'm stuck there for 90 seconds.
And to add insult to injury; seven
of the times I re-connected to the server and went into multi-player I
got the "welcome to multiplayer..." page and all my characters were
reset to 1 and everything was locked.  I had to exit ME3, log out of
Origin and then restart Origin and the game before my multiplayer was
loaded correctly.

Obviously today was the worst i've experienced
because usually I give up after being disconnected 2 or 3 times and just
turn it off for the night.

I've had these issues since I started multi-player, but is seems to be getting worse every day.  During my attempts to fix it, I've chatted with 6 different
"Advisors" over at EA's tech support and sent 3 emails, always
receiving the same "fixes" that have been listed in the other posts
(delete cache; repair install; Revo-uninstall origin and manual
reinstall, etc.) all of which I've done multiple times and still have
the same problem.

I'm getting to the point that I want to
uninstall Origin and ME3 and call it quits, but on the rare occasions
what I actually make it through an entire mission I really enjoy the
gameplay so I don't know what to do.

FYI, advisors can't help becauser it is a software defect, not a network issue. All they can do is tell you what to check on your network...after that, they ASSUME it will work, but the game itself has issues.

The servers are involved in joining games and hosting. If you lose connection to the game as a non-host, most likely servers were not involved. If that is the case, you are back to network software failure rather than server issues.

It's only ME3 I am having problems with.... The store and everything takes ages to load compared to other games. And I get disconnected a litte too often....

10 disconnnects + in the last 5 hours, losing all my XP and credits
Disabling fire wall does not help
rebooting, etc

Thanks EA! You're the best! I absolutely positively will be friggin ignoring whatever titles you put out from now on, and posting bad reviews of your company every chance I can get.

You ruin everything.

This seems to be a PC only issue, so I doubt it will be fixed. For me it is 70% when I'm hosting I will disconnect. That could definitely be my connection. Other online games are fine, but this is the only one I play that's peer to peer. However, even when not hosting it's around 30%. I think all these problems would be fixed if the games were hosted by the EA server. Peer to peer is just too unreliable. I imagine most players like myself don't have a good enough connection to host a game.

ROFL, no...every platform has disconnect issues to the extreme. I think they do not use their own servers because of the enormous cost of so much more bandwidth. Latency would at times be worse as well...traffic would be client to server to client. More computing power as well. A really nice part is better anti-cheating, so they could do more in terms of features that they cannot do as is without fear of cheating.

"Bioware servers unavailable at this time" error message for the last couple weeks; haven't been able to play at all.

EA tech support clueless. Any joint courses of action? I am in.

It just depends on what your setup is. Do you have any kind of firewall? Do you have a router? If you have a router, do you share it? If you have a router, is the UPNP set up for your computer? So on. In any case, the servers have been there, so there has to be some issue. I know that some people who stall out can get an invite from someone on a friend list and get into a private game, and from then on it works (but this seems to be when they have an extra login screen due to something like announcing a weekend event). So...describe your setup in detail...maybe someone can help. EA help is mostly trained to read recipes...you could get lucky and find one of the people who actually play the game and understands, but odds are low.

Tried with disabled firewall, tried with antivirus disabled, tried resetting router, of course UPnP is set up. Thanks for giving it a shot though, .458.

Don't mean to come off as a smartass, but setup is: no problems til three weeks ago, then can't even log in to play multiplayer or access DLC. Also tried manual uninstall (https://help.ea.com/...g-mass-effect-3), logging off Origin, repairing installation, searching for updates, checking the ban list, "restarting" my account through EA (whatever that means), checking the System32 "hosts" file, and whatever else EA has prescribed that I left off this list.

Anyhow, still open to other suggestions.

FYI, the hosts file is for a failed or custom DNS. DNS is how you convert a named address to its dotted-decimal format, e.g., google.com is not directly useful without DNS. If your system is unable to look up various addresses, then the hosts file entry would bypass that issue. DNS itself can consume significant bandwidth on some networks as well, so it can improve connection time on slow DNS. If you can go to a web browser though, and succeed in reaching sites like google.com or yahoo.com, and if those are not in your hosts file (by default this is empty), then your DNS works. This isn't to say that sometimes certain addresses fail, because the way DNS propagates it is possible for some addresses to not work while others do (this is just low probability).

Windows is kind of limited in network tools, but if you open a DOS prompt/shell, you can generally type in something like "nslookup google.com" and get a list of addresses (but many sites have only 1 IP address, google just happens to be big). If you somehow find the address which is being looked for in the game, and that game is failing, then you have a way to look up the address and add it to the hosts file. A big question though is which address is it that is unable to succeed in connecting? There are many associated with this game...many for origin alone.

So...does origin successfully start and can you see things like your list of games or advertisements? Can you start ME3 and get to the first menu that lets you select single player or multiplayer? If you can get there, can you view the check for downloadable content? Can you play single player without an origin ID failure? Can you then get to any multiplayer menu? It's rather important to narrow down which part is looking for a network connection and does not actually work.

Once you get that far you might be able to use netstat to help find out what is being looked at. If netstat wants a dotted decimal address, then DNS does not matter (but a route does). For those addresses it does want, you can check with nslookup if you can find a numeric address for the named address. All of this is greatly complicated by the fact that some parts of some programs use TCP, and others use UDP, and that there are several executables involved...it works out to a lot to skim through from netstat.

Anyone who has given up on EA help needs to be able to answer exactly which stage fails, and identify which address is failing on which application.

One example of looking up UDP on windows 7 is this:
C:\\Windows\\System32\\cmd.exe /k "C:\\Windows\\System32\\NETSTAT.EXE -a -f -b -p UDP 8"

Then there is the TCP version as well. In-game is 100% UDP. I believe origin is 100% TCP.

Quite often reinstall will not help unless it also removes all of the registry entries and configuration...otherwise it will simply re-use those. I remember one guy who wiped his hard drive and reinstalled everything from scratch to get it to work. Not the best way of working it out. It would be really really nice if BW would include better messages to detail exactly what is failing, such as the IP address and such...then this would not be an issue.

I started playing MP again since a weer or two. Have seen disconnects getting worse and worse. Right now I can't seem to finish a single MP game anymore, so I won't bother. I'll keep trying / check the forums once in a while, but I would really wish that BW would fix this.

rid the registry entries hmm good thinking i'll have to wipe the game from HDD and the entries and see if that helps.. I did use the repair thing but it didn't work wish me luck hehe *crosses fingers*

Edit: so a full reinstall worked for me I lost connection once and after that it worked fine I guess when updating a patch or installing a DLC it might of deleted a file or corrupted a file ro whatnot I dunno but I am able to play online again on desktop your idea of deleting the registry entries worked
