Yep, you're right. The rank 6 evo has no effect on SS.

However, I do still like the SS. It's nice to be able to pick off lone enemies relitivly quickly without a sniper.

I was wrong, uploading the video. I should have started on Bronze, but I was testing out my Gold build and just didn't think about the point difference.



It may take a bit for it to process. I guess I might as well do a vid for the shield armor issue also.

now i 60-70% of time using ES clear group of enemy
10-20% using shot gun
10% using SS
less than 1 % i really do melee
i put 3 point in passive . may be i should do 3 point in fitness to make a 66653

i have another question
i am hestitate to get evo 5 at SM . that 50% increase of melee.
1. not sure does it really increase SS damage.
2. does it need a real heavy melee to increase the damage or i do SS count as heavy melee

That's the beauty of that rank, it doesn't need to be a "heavy" melee. The description just says "sword attack", which is a light melee, heavy melee, or yes, Shadow Strike.

What are you talking about? When I made my sword on fire I killed brutes on gold using 2 shadow strikes but then I respeced to not do that and it took 3 shadow strikes ...... Am I missing something here?

LOL so now armor damage does work?! WTF is going on here, we have 30 different people saying 15 different things. I just promoted so I can't go and test it myself either. Man reading these threads gives me a migraine sometimes. Someone who uses this character a LOT needs to go thru all the Skills and Ranks and be very specific on what effects what, and what is NOT working.

If you want to see whether or not it works, 3 things are important:
-Crunch numbers to see what your damage is without Shield/Armor.
-Find enemies that
--Should be killed outright by your setup
--Should be barely alive with your setup
-Take Shield/Armor, see what changes

If the Electric sword on SM does not work I see no point in using it, just take fire instead as SS will drop the shields on most enemies.

I'm still not convinced that Shield Damage isn't working:
(Without Martial Artist)

600 (base)
+120 (+20%, SS rank 3)
+390 (+65%, total Sword Master)
+540 (+90%, TC with Melee Damage, Duration)
=1650
x1.25 (Stunner/Blade)
=2062.5

Silver Marauder (1012.5 shield / 1350 health) was killed before DoT
1012.5 / 1.5 = 675 "effective" damage to shields
2062.5 - 675 = 1387.5 "remaining" damage done to health
1387.5 - 1350 = (-27.5, dead)
Something's wrong with the bonus, but it's not broken. If anything it's just an additive damage bonus like any other, and not multiplicitive like I'd been rambling that it has been. Sorry folks.

I am convinced that Electric Damage over time is not 40% of base, as it would be unable to kill a Gold Assault Trooper in one uncloaked blade SS if that was the case.

600 (base)
+120
+390
=1110
x1.25
=1387.5

1387.5 + 240 = 1627.5 (40% of base)
1387.5 x 1.4 = 1942.5 (40% of total)
Gold Assault Trooper, 1687.5 health, was killed after 2-3 seconds. 2 health bars before DoT.

i can test it now, i'm level 20 but no put all my point so i have this set up :

TC : duration-melee damage-bonus
Electric slash : 0
Shadow strike : 3
N7 : power-power
sword mastery : sword damage - speed

i try bronze and wave 2, i have one centurion : 3 health bar left.

Now i go with 6e evolution sword mastery for shield and see what happens..

Edit : ok centurion still have 3 bar left so for me i'm sure  Sword mastery for shield DO NOT increase shadow strike.

Someone can test with armor ? May be shield don't work but armor do..


I believe that shield damage is not additive or multipicative but simply don't work for Shadow strike but only for melee.

I've been rambling that it's a multiplied bonus, but additive (like any other bonus) is making it make as much sense.

It sounds like to me that they don't work with SS, which would explain why my cloaked heavy melee does more damage than SS on armored targets-yes, I took the flame for SM6.

No, it's not. As I previously tested, even if it were a 50% additive bonus, it wouldn't work out: the Centurion would be at 6 bars remaining. There is no bonus added at all. It's just not there. Meanwhile, it is seen quite clearly in light and heavy melees as a multiplicative bonus.

I do not understand why you keep towing this line when all data from every test proves you wrong.

i mean is it really boost the SS in game, not broken?
really SS really count as melee/sword attack and it really boost its damage
i know the description, but now so many thing are broken and not sure does it work as expected
