It seems the writers are on a roll!!

No one kneads to tell Sheryl what to do. You won't find her sitting around smelling the flour!

You're very punny. You're obviously part of the comedic upper crust.

They butter not be loafing around! They mayo may not be working on the next DA,, but it would be the coldest cut of all if nothing was due anytime soon from them. They might themselves in a bit of a pickle if all of their jobs were outsourced to New Deli.

Eggcellent buns. I hope posting these aren't a misteak, but it's good that the devs have mustard the energy to tweet. Nevertheless, I usually don't mind waiting for news but this is getting pasta joke. Thank the Baker we have something to keep us speggulating.

Mark was clearly referring to characters as in letters of the alphabet. This speculation on initials is pointless. Unless you're all being sarcastic and it's gone over my head...

Wasn't until sometime after my post did I think "Ohhhhhh!"

Pointless though it may be, it's something to distract us until some more information is released. Then again this isn't really the thread for it, I think most of the names have been exhaused anyway.

If we take EA's investor call as some kind of meta-corporate tweet (I'm generous with the character limit), there is a possibility The Next Thing will be announced at Gamescom in Germany, which starts on August 13.

A financial analyst asked EA senior executives:

... in your slide deck [of upcoming releases], you have your number of titles coming per quarter and a list of titles you've announced. It looks to me like you have three consoles/PC titles that you haven't yet announced what they are for the year. Is that correct? And also is it correct that those are all scheduled for the March quarter? Thank you

The answers were:

Frank Gibeau - Electronic Arts Inc. - President, EA Labels:
And on the title count, yes, there are six titles scheduled for [financial year] Q4, three of which we have announced and are providing in our schedules.

John Riccitiello - Electronic Arts Inc. - CEO
And GamesCom is when we do most of the rest of the unveiling. So we use the major consumer shows as opposed to our quarterly financial results to announce titles.

Of course, Riccitiello said "most" of the unveiling, and it's entirely possible DA: The Next Thing is one of those titles that they aren't going to announce yet.

It's also possible that DA isn't even scheduled for financial Q4 2013 (I've read that it might've slipped to financial Q1 2014, which is actually about May-July next year using the normal calendar), and so its announcement could be even later.

I haven't seen DA devs confirm or rule out a Gamescom appearance, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Well BW is definitely gonna be at Gamescom:

Jessica and I are thinking of taking a trip to Cologne/Koln Germany to meet our fans at Gamescom August 16-19.

Is anyone here on the BSN planning to be there who'd want to meet and talk to us about BioWare and Dragon Age?

Does that mean, that they're announcing DA? Probably not, but looking at that massive investor call (and thanks for pulling out the relevant parts) it seems like a possibility. I won't hold my breath though.

To be honest I'm a little disappointed at the total lack of information so far, especially given how the devs have stated they are going to be much more transparent with the cycle this time around. Obviously the game hasn't been officially announced and it makes no sense to give details before then but I was hoping for slightly more input from BioWare, rather than infuriating hints...Mike Laidlaw I'm looking at you *shakes fist*. Still super excited for when they finally pull back those curtains

Doubtful.

Its probably in this thread even but I think Laidlaw insinuated not too long ago that they wouldn't have any new news out by PAX Prime which is after Gamescom.

Of the 3 games mentioned in the investor call, we already know the Army of Two sequel is one of the games, which leaves two left. In the conference call in May, EA made note that one of their previously scheduled games for fiscal 2013 was being pushed back to fiscal 2014. I think that's likely DA3, just based on the expack being cancelled and the fact that they likely ended preproduction on it about a month or 2 ago.

My guess is some sort of reveal in December at the VGAs with a scheduled release late 2013, around the same time as nextgen consoles come out.

It does seem kind of contradictory. On one hand they're saying they'll be more transparent and solicit more feedback and yet on the other, they're comitted to not showing anything or saying anything until they have something concrete to show and talk about. But you'd think at that point, the game is effectively set in stone in terms of the big picture.

I agree that it's probably unlikely - but it is handy if we're looking at a general timeframe with absolutely no concrete info :P

I don't think pre-production finished only a month or two ago, remember that there were art assets, audio work and what sounded like working builds back in February and March.

All concept art tells a story, so posting any could give away information we didn't mean to give away. That's the rough of it, unfortunately.

It could also give up the completely wrong impression about something.  The early concept art for Morrigan and Wynne didn't resemble their in-game selves at all.  Wynne's concept art caused many of us to ask if she was romanceable.

Have to admit I dont really follow the forums /that/ much but when I played the game and saw real morrigan I was slightly disappointed, I was in love with the concepts Jason Chan did.
