I don't mind if Alistair isn't in DA3 (in fact, I'm a little happy about it if it's true). Don't get me wrong, I love Alistair, but I don't want Bioware to fall into the habit of having the same cameos with every game. If it's a minor cameo like Bodhan/Sandal or something, that's fine, but major characters (imo) should only appear if it makes sense for them to appear. A little fanservice is okay, but overt pandering drives me crazy (see Yoda's appearance in Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2).

Also, it is frustrated to watch inside the twitter oven and wait for the hints to rise.

But seriously, I think I know what the bread means. Loaves of bread must be replacing cheese wheels in all of the levels.

WHAT?! No cheese wheels?!! Pre-order cancelled!

This doesn't necessarily herald the end of the cheese wheels. Rather, it may be a case of players getting the ingredients to a sandwich. DA2 had cheese wheels, the next game will have bread...and perhaps the one after will have cold cuts. Or a plate of ham-that-tastes-like-despair in every building.

do you people honestly not see it? We are goin to Orlais. ORLAIS. O-R-L-A-I-S!  The land of the smelly cheeses!

I pray to the maker that they will try to tune the french accent down a bit... I always crinch when I hear the orlesians speak as they have been up until now...

They just need to get native speakers to do it. Corinne Kempa did a great job with Leliana. Too many of the Orlesians in DA2 were caricatures.

We've heard many types of Orlesian accents throughout the DA games, the only ones which seem to make people cringe are the nobility ones which are supposed to sound haughty (which typically causes cringing).

I think they've said that the vast majority of the much maligned "non-native" voice actors are only non-native in the minds of overly critical fans, not reality.

One of Mike's tweets (or maybe Alain's, I forget) at some point did mention dwarven ruins, and Alain's definitely mentioned Sundermount, so it's not as though the player will be stuck in Orlais for the entire game.

(and if I had to guess, in responding to criticism that DA2 lacked scope or was too confined, The Next Thing will be deliberately set in a bunch of different places)

Perhaps Sundermount was a reference to the expansion pack?

I checked the dates, and the Sundermount reference was about a week before Mike (or Mark?) officially announced that they'd stopped work on Exalted March, and had transferred to The Next Thing.

I don't really know how these things work, but I'd think the turnaround time between stopping work on something and announcing it would be far longer than a week - plus, Exalted March was being worked on way back in at least (but almost certainly before...) July 2011.

The tweet itself referenced the sprint review days that have been continuing right through Bioware's summer work on The Next Thing, so... I'd think it's more likely that it was referring to the game rather than the expansion.

"Elven ruins, rock formations, sea monkeys and oh my! Sundermount! #SprintReviewDay"

Also, they always did say the storyline for Exalted March would be referenced (merged into?) via DA3, and there are a bunch of plot points that still need resolving in the Free Marches.

Yeah, the french voice actors have been a mixed bag in the DA series.  For every great one  (lelianna's), there's a truly  horrible one   (isolde;  "Teeeaaggaaan!)

It's not anywhere near confirmed but DA3 has been mentioned in this .pdf of games on Gamescom's official website:

Its probably going to be called Dragon Age: Inquisition. (which i expected)

If the survey, that has being posted in other forums, is at least a bit accurate.

Just because it was closed doesn't mean it was fake- though I have my personal doubts. They should have let it stay open so we could assume fun things.

You must be new here.

We have no idea if it was fake or not. Mods also closed the 'Mass Effect is coming to PC' threads long ago.

The OP in that ridiculous thread, re: the 'survey' they 'filled out' to get 'exclusive info':

Emzamination wrote...
O yeah, it was all very intricate, Discussing everything from romance, specializations, game length, fighting styles, game world exploration, cameos to the characters own Teyrnir

Someone can write fan-fiction companions, claim the market research survey went into detail about romances, specialisations, game length and CAMEOS, edit a screenshot, and this forum seriously takes it as potentially real rather than the invention of an overexcited fan with far too much time and devotion on their hands?

It hardly needs to be pointed out that two different 'companion' 'screenshots' have the same percentage complete. I don't think real surveys are in the business of looping back on themselves and having two separate pages count as 65% complete:

clicky!

Mass Effect 3 is a singleplayer game.

But wait you say, ME3 IS a sp game! They didn't lie! True but that was what everyone was using as proof that there would be no MP despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

I'm not saying it is true, but it could be. Bioware has denied nothing and even then they can outright obfuscate. When I saw it closed I went "Damn fake was looking forward to Cole since the book...." Since outright lying is somewhat rare, then I realized Being a troll thread is not synonymous with being fake. Damn you Bioware *shakes fist*

ETA: True not a good sign but having done more online surveys for 25 cents than I'd like to admit you can go several pages without the percentage changing.
