Something I just noticed about that leak is that it says "Orlais is the most power empire in Dragon Age", "The once unified faith of the Dragon Age world" and "the world of Dragon Age is one on the brink of collapse". Shouldn't that be "Thedas" not "the Dragon Age world" - strikes me as very amateurish to not refer to the world by it's proper name.
Maybe. Game back covers don't always use in-game names for things for fear of scaring off new players with too much info. But I definitely think it's not necessarily true that Orlais is the most powerful empire in Thedas. The Chantry's in Orlais but not too tightly affiliated with the crown, and Tevinter and the Qunari are pretty powerful too (*cough*gunpowder*cough*).

Yeah I'd say Orlais is probably the "hub" but I won't call it the most powerful.
Watch the Anders' invade from the north with their army of Grey Wardens and griffons. Surprise! LOL

I thought Thedas was the name of the continent most of these nations were on, not the actual world.
Or am I mistaken?

I support this. They'd mess her (read: my GW) up. Just have a random NPC tell my new character that she's alive and ruling Ferelden with Alistair and maybe preggers* and I'll be fine.TamiBx wrote...
Also, I forgot to post it here, but: the GW is most likely NOT showing up at DA3:

Tricky question. I worry that "we" could never do your character justice as an NPC. Thin ice with a lot of players."
Actually, that is the first thing that came to mind. I feel less weird now.mousestalker wrote...
At the risk of being the outlier, Iron Bull sounds too much like a refreshing beverage than a companion.
"Drink Iron Bull, it gives you horns!"
Perhaps not...

And for some reason the description of Iron Bull (from here - I didn't see the orginal) makes me think of Black Whirlwind from Jade Empire.
FUN FACT: As of now, "Evil" Chris and Gaider (who may or may not be evil himself) are scheduled to be at Dragon*Con in Atlanta over Labor Day weekend. So maybe nothing's happening in Germany... But DRAGONcon, and DRAGONage. I'm not saying... I'm just sayin'....
*I personally do not support pregnancy, but for some reason I think if it, by which I mean acknowledgement of my warden, happens, that will be how. Even though I know like 80-90% of players use male wardens or something. (Note: this is not researched in any way. I'm just making unfounded claims)

Unless something really surprising happens at Gamescom, I think we'll be waiting a while for substantial news.

There's a difference, surely, between speculation ("What if the companions were...?") and presenting fake or invented information as real ("My super sekrit source says these are the companions, believe me!")
The latter could actually trick people, do harm to the image of the game before release, and probably weirdest of all involves someone who either genuinely believes their fantasy speculation is the real thing, or who doesn't care and wants to fool people who are already leaping at speculative shadows, so to speak.
Speculation is awesome, but why is making up stuff and presenting it as a real leak ever okay, or a good thing?
It's been stated here, by me and about 5 other forum members that this was a focus testing survey, you know testing ideas with a wider scope of demographics that extends beyond this forum's community, surprised? Brockololly summed up how it works very nicely in the First line of the second paragraph here.I'm surprised you could look at cole's photo that shows a 'fill in the bubble' portion of the survey with my mouse cusor lighting up column 2 and accuse me of photoshop.Someones not familar with webpage script or photoshop
I would've thought it was bull too and wouldn't of bothered posting the Images If I hadn't been compensated in currency for taking the survey. Now why would any company pay users to take a 'fraudulent' survey about a completely random product with no promise of gain? more importantly where would they get the money to fund such a 'fraudulant' survey to begin with? hmm, again refer to Brockololly's post but I'll sum it up a bit.The parent company "EA" contracts the "survey company", handing them Writer rough drafts and game Ideas to get a feel for what the larger part of gamers, outside this communite's threads are interested in seeing, still follow? When enough users have completed the study, the survey company turns in the demographic to the parent company and they sift through that.Learn something about marketing before you make a jerk of yourself throwing around bias disingenuous accusations about my character.
For those wondering why the photos started being removed, I'd like to humourously point out only certain descriptions were removed, the rest were left alone. Also some news sites like the one I linked above that brought attention to my thread were quickly and 'mysteriously' taken down. You can find a portion of that site taken down ere at the top of the page tho the Description is cut off, troll thread Indeed, more like Corporate white wash 101, lmao.
I'd also like to mention those descriptions say 'potential' so please don't take them as gospel because they look like outlines judging from the lack of indepth detail, for all we know, we could get a qunari party member but he might not necessarily be named Iron bull. The same can be said about the Elven rogue.

Mike Laidlaw said they wouldn't be at PAX, and David being at DragonCon is more just to connect with the community, afaik nothing was mentioned about marketing being there. I even remember Gaider tweeting that he wasn't sure if he'd be on a panel?

I just looked at the Dragon*Con schedule and saw nothing Dragon Age related. That doesn't mean there isn't any (it's early here and the caffeine hasn't really started working) so take that for what it is. If anything is announced it will likely be repeated somewhere on the 'nets immediately after it slips out of someone's mouth.

And again we'll probably gonna find tons of new information when a demo will be send out to professionals.
When DA2 came out , we already knew most of game because of some demo files , demo that Bioware made ....
I don't know if they do that on purpose to create a buzz on the net ...
I'm very curious about the whole issue , files in the demo , I mean.
If a moderator can explain that , I'd like to know why they left precious information at reach if they don't want spoilers or leak.

No idea if I believe the 'survey' to be true or even care, but its alteast something intresting to think about. Cole appearing would be welcome. Shame about Fiona if this is true.

It's actually the .tlk files within the demo (and within full games). In Bioware's case .tlk files have spoiled plot points in DA2, ME3 (most of the script was leaked three months before release) and leaked the existence of the ME3 DLC Leviathan along with a bit of dialogue.
I'm not sure of the technical details, but the .tlk files do have coding for dialogue tags and data positions (perhaps for programming when text appears on screen, or for QA purposes?) so I'm not sure if they could be removed or hidden. At the very least, .tlk files with references for Leviathan were included in ME3's Extended Cut even though Bioware were obviously aware of how easy it is for people to find out plot points from them.
It's more of a case of people combing the game files for information, rather than Bioware leaving it in plain sight - but at the same time, it's obviously not a priority to make them more secure if DLC packs keep leaking information on future projects.

i kind of knew for the .tlk files ,I saw the ME3 one months before release.
What i don't understand is can they make a .tlk files just for the demo?
I don't know how it works ,but they can't say they don't know about data mining habits going on on the net.
And there's also files in da2 , that were left there and never used for the game.
Some voice files , morph files etc...it just seems kind of "messy" to me.
I don't know ,I guess it's a ton of work to go through every files and redo them once the game is ready to go gold.

It's definitely not on purpose (Casey Hudson and the writers seemed very annoyed/upset when ME3 leaked, and for good reason) but I suppose it's hard to make a system that isn't easy to get the information out of.

Don't get too upset about the fate of your favorites at this point. The "leak" was as fake as fake gets. Either that, or quality standards have gone down tremendously. Even without the unprofessional wording and amateurish character concepts, no editor worth his salt would allow a marketing survey to go out with that many spelling and grammatical errors.Pzykozis wrote...

Speculation is fun, though, so there's no reason not to carry on. Just understand that it is speculation. They'd really better throw us a bone soon. We're 10,000 monkeys in a room full of typewriters. Sooner or later, somebody's going to get it right completely by accident.

Who said anything about information being released? Certainly not I.All those things were Indeed discussed but not in the manner you're assuming they were. For example regarding romance, I was asked my opinion on whether I'd like to see more in depth romances as well as different palette of sexualities.I was given a list of 'potential' specilizations and asked things like If I thought there should be more or should the three base arche types make a return at all.Game Length should be self explanatory.Fighting styles, whether they should make a return to tactical or remain fluid.Game world exploration, whether I preferred it be open world or linear as well as some other features regarding the new engine.Cameos, Whether I would like to see old characters from past dragon age games make a return.Tons of other Ideas but not gonna talk about those.I hope you get the picture
