I hate their teasing ;(.

Still, I'm glad they're enthusiastic about what they're doing. I wonder when we will get any news. I'm sorta with the people saying the VGA's (I hope it isn't any later than that).

Chris Priestly ‏@BioEvilChris

Next week I'll be in Atlanta for DragonCon with @davidgaider to enjoy the con & meet our fans below the MasonDixon line. Will you bet there?

Surprise and delight

Stop it already.

I want the next thing to be great. This just brings back horrible memories of awesome button, nobody notices the details of areas and other such DA2 marketing horse...dung.

In response to comment: "Can't wait for news about DA3 i hope you will have some soon."

Mike Laidlaw tweeted:
I wouldn’t expect it all that soon, but it will be coming eventually.

Sounds exciting.:D

I'm tentatively hoping the marketing is going to better this time.

I was rewatching a dev diary the other week (the one with the mockup animation that featured a Sera-lookalike elf) and it was odd to hear them acknowledge way back in 2010 the possibility of a backlash then confidently predict it wouldn't happen.

Regarding selecting import flags and altering plot states at the start of new games:

Mike Laidlaw wrote:
Something like that would be helpful for both new and veteran players, so definitely worth exploring.

Also, the Writer's Pit is descending into anarchy. Or maybe it was always anarchy.

Okay, I can't seem to understand anything today. I'm staring at stuff just trying to figure it out.

Mary Kirby's tweet about qunari/kossith. I'm not mad at her. I don't really care, actually.  But I was confused because if I ask nicely to have a qunari companion in DA3---I don't mean Tallis. I mean a kossith qunari.

Qun/Qunari is a religion that many races can join.

Kossith is a race. So...yeah. I was just confused.

Then I read the bolded part up there, and I'm still trying to figure that out. Did he mean harder than any new story? I don't understand that tweet.

Was he a journalist ? News Story could refer to a piece for a newspaper and the working hard to the background work that goes behind it

This is about what I assumed, that whatever he's doing on DA requires more work than his previous work in news stories.

A reminder that David Gaider, Mike Laidlaw and Chris Priestly are at conventions (PAX Prime and DragonCon, which despite the name has nothing to do with DA) all over the place this weekend. No big announcements expected though.

Mike does have a panel on character writing, so it's possible there might be some tidbits here and there.

lol... I hope you enjoy the fetal position, because I'm afraid you'll be spending a lot of time there if a comment like that is enough to set you off. :innocent: Not to judge you or anything, maybe marketing speak deserves such a response. But it is what it is and it's not going away anytime soon, as far as I can tell.

I'm hoping for something.

Obviously not an announcement because Mike already said no announcements, but something would be nice.

I thought this was a fascinating interview with David Gaider (not quite Twitter-related but he retweeted it so nyah) about DA fandom and some of the mindset behind romances, representation and characterisation:

Linky  (the DA-related parts run from ~7:00 - 53:00)

(There's a really interesting section on how the team discusses writing with fans, and some of the discussions internally on how to approach certain issues.)

That Anders looks similar to the original one. And he has Ser Pounce-a-lot in his hand... Awwww! I'd totally hump him! The Anders guy, not Ser Pounce-a-lot. :P

On the other hand, Alistair dude is alright. Sebastian is just... no.

Hmm...I disagree with David on one point. He says that when creating an RPG you're asking the player to identify with the character. While that's sometimes the case, I more often than not create a character in an RPG who is original and bears little resemblence (both physically and in terms of personality) to myself (for example, though I'm straight myself, I've often roleplayed gay or bisexual characters in same-sex romances, and I'm sure many others do the same). Perhaps I'm just being pedantic.

I think the Sebastian cosplayer did a great job! I really love his expression ... it's actually pretty reminiscent of the character!

Alistair also looks great. Love the amor! Anders' coat is fab, but he should have fixed his hair a bit!

All the ladies look great :D I wonder if that's "Merril's" real hair. If so, it's cute lol

Looks like those cosplayers put quite some effort into making those outfits, pretty good work.
