As long as its not an MMO, I'm fine with.

Have they hinted how many DA games they're planning on making? (Just wondering)

And as much as I want the nextgen consoles, I'm afraid they'll take longer to release them. There are games still being released for the current consoles, and I don't think developers will be happy if they release a new generation of consoles after a couple of months that they released a big title. Unless the nextgen will support current games.

Helm's Deep + Batcave = Weisshapt? Anyone else read that tweet that way?

That'd be pretty interesting if Weisshaupt was like that.

But I imagine it has more to do with what faction you support in-game, rather then the Wardens. Assuming it's not just devs trying to bait us into getting all happy when really there's nothing there at all.

I hadn't thought of that, I guess it's a possibility. They were taking about the idea of sending us to different locations around Thedas... Although I got the impression that we will be predominantly based in Orlais, maybe with the odd larger quest set elsewhere in Thedas, like the final battle or whatever. But I dunno, only time will tell lol.

I believe it's been suggested that once we know what is coming we'll understand or appreciate why they had to cancel the expansion.

I have my doubts that it's something I'll consider worth the price, but I guess we'll find out.

As long as they feel like it.

Which means as long as they don't get fired and as long as they don't find anything better to do.

I'd guess at least two more, depending how long BioWare sticks around. If the writing team starts to leave, then I'd say we're near the end (of the "true" Dragon Age, at least).

2014???? Are they out of their ****ing mind!!!!!!!
I don't wanna wait that long for a videogame..
That is just insane...

Hardly, I'd wait much longer than that if we got a quality game instead of something that's rushed out with only recycled environments and a flimsy plot to brag about.

You can wait 10 years and still get a crappy game ...it's been known to happen look at what happen to the Final Fantasies . And FYI Skrim had  recycled enviroments and noone complained half as much as the babies on this site. <_< You wait all you want Chicken Boy...

I didn't neccessarily mean that more time = great game. Duke Nukem is a prime example of that, but Bioware seems to do best when they have enough time to plan and create, rather than shoving it out the door, but they know themselves best and I still have enough trust in them to deliver a game to their standards, after all they are the professionals. Not I.

FYI: Insulting me, and calling others 'babies' won't make the time go any faster. If Chicken Boy is an insult I'm... not sure.

Edit: Man, I'm an idiot, I just saw what my profile picture is... but Chicken Girl would be perhaps more accurate, though gender is hardly discernible from neck up I suppose.

I wonder just how many tweets have absolutely nothing to do with The Next Thing or anything DA related, and are really just the devs making us think they have something to do with the DA series.

I can kinda see the devs playing that type of sick and twisted game to the fans.

A fair few I dare say. Although the tweet about making Luke (whoever he is) sad is definitely about the game because she mentions to another twitter-er that they'll feast on the tears once the fans experience that part of the conversation in game lol.

Luke (Lukas, I think?) is another writer, he wrote Aveline (and a bunch of other stuff) in DA2, and a lot of things in ME/ME2/DAO/Jade Empire/KOTOR etc etc.

It's the disgusting cynic in me but part of me wonders if the Next Thing is even the next game.

I can just see them announcing Dragon Age: Anime TV Series!! Only to be shown in Japan!! :pinched:

I was thinking more along the lines of a replacement for the party camp where your companions gather. If this is true though, it sounds like the purpose of the "central companion hub" will be expanded and we'll have more to do there than just interact with our followers (sort of along the lines of a polished, properly implemented, expanded Sanctaury from Fable III).

Me too. I have this nagging feeling that it's going to be something that I just won't be interested in, like an MMO or something and that will be the end of DA for me. But I'm trying to stay positive.

No MMOs. They know fans don't want one and, more importantly, simply don't have the funds to create and support one at this time.

The mythical Wiki people have made their own thread and have collected a few tweets I haven't seen on here. Link.

My favorite from Mark:

I bet they're jealous of all the attention that the Mass Effect team is getting today. I encourage childish outbursts of teasers and leaked images from the DA:N team.

Has it definitely been announced/hinted at by devs that it'll be out in 2014? I'm just catching up on DA3 news... Or lack of lol.

Well, there is a speculation about march 2014, because we had a fiscal report from EA saying that a key game had change released date from fiscal year 2012 to end of fiscal year 2013 (january~march 2014).

And some insiders (i don't remeber who, probably Patcher) said it is probably DA3.

He wrote Carver in DA2 as well. My first true virtual brother—Luke did an awesome job.

Luke has written for every game BioWare has made, up until ME3. He has been there for all of it, all the way back to the original BG. He was co-lead writer of Jade Empire (so that one is "his" game).

His job title should be The Writer. There are other writers, senior and junior and everything in between, but Luke will always be The Writer at BioWare.

Huh. I was following all but two. One of those, I followed previously but the snark was killing the mood. (Not Chris. Someone else I won't name.)

I feel ... stalker-ish. :?

Lukas Kristjanson also wrote Minsc in the Baldur's Gate games. Minsc is the fighter who carried Boo the hamster.

Mike...loves to speak in abstract and vague terms, but I think he spoke too much in that way.
