I don't know if Walters and / or Hudson ever really even thought that people would analyse "how it works" in this detail. I guess most who played through ME3 didn't.

Perhaps they thought people would ponder and speculate about... why Shepard had to die, "created will always rebel" stuff, was Catalyst really just sexually frustrated being alone for so long and so on.

It awnser is the very concept of a persona. If you wipe someone mind, who ever they are dies. Think brain death. Even if the body is restore, who every the person was dies. The tech we use doen't have a persona, but AI's do. If the reaper have no info on what they are, who they are and how they function, they simply stop. Same concept of every AI.

I am still confused with the fact that if the Crucible is just a powersource, than shouldn't you be able to go the upper levels of the Citadel and be able to destroy, control, synthesize, but on a limited scope.
I cannot believe that the IM's plan was to wait for the alliances forces who he was attacking to build the Crucible, attatched it, and then use it to control the Reapers. So basically his entire plan was centered around taking control of a device of the people that he and the Reapers were attacking. How was he going to control the Reapers if the Crucible did not get built?

Can someone just explained that to me?

First you say it targets AI.  Then you say it's an emp, now you say it wipes synthetic minds.  If you keep moving the goalposts I don't see the point in arguing with you.  What you just described is not emp.

No, It does all of it as onceon a bases it's an emp. This is not hard to understand. If you destroy how something functions, everything about it die or stops working.That is want an emp  does to synthetics. Emp to synthetic is like posion to organics.
An emp will while the base of how the AI function out with the restof it's data. An emp to an AI wipes out all it's programing.
That is an emp. If you put an electic magnetic pulse(emp) to a computer, it wipe out all the computer data. It a AI does not have the data in it any more, it stops functioning.
How is ithis hard to understand?

I understand he thought he was fighting the Reapers, but his plan was to use the Crucible when he was not building, and had no way of knowing it was being built. The Reapers did not know it was being built.

An emp that destoryes the nano machine in their body that keeping it together.

Because if the Crucible is just a giant emp weapon why the hell didn't the galaxy just simply use emp weapons to stop the Reapers?  I already went over this and more in a previous post, yet you choose to ignore it.  An emp weapon would also wouldn't kill husks, yet it the game clearly shows the husks being vaporized.

He had no way of knowing that it would be finished.   He didn't even know if the Crucible would make it to being attatched to the Citadel; in fact, it is not like he shares with you the information about the Catalyst. It is not like this was his master plan. He doesn't even know if you are able to get passed Lei Kang to tell the fleet about the Catalyst.

He had no way of knowing that it would be finished.   He didn't even know if the Crucible would make it to being attatched to the Citadel; in fact, it is not like he shares with you the information about the Catalyst. Of couse he knew it would be finished. That why he had his forced go after the final peice.
His orginal plan was the he was going to build the crucible withhis resourced. That's why he had EDA try and take the info on the crucible. Everything he done afterwas only because he did not have the data on the crucible. He took the prothean vi just to slow us down. If he want to stop the crucible project, he would of destoryed the the prothean vi and it data. Instead he left it for us to find. This was on perpose.

Remeber, the crucible is a massive power source.

It is not a matter of power.  If a device is completely shielded against emp, an emp pulse would do nothing to it.  Much how emp would do nothing to a rock.  Not only that, but if the Crucible was an emp weapon, it would destroy all unshielded electronics.  It would fry all computers and electrical systems.  Clearly that didn't happen because the cutscene shows ships flying perfectly fine immediately after the blast.  There is too much evidence against your claim that the Crucible is an actual emp weapon.
