When in the game does it ever say it's impossible to control the reapers?
Also, what happen with destory also  results an an unavodible situation as well. Really, your missing the point. What it did was not up to the player because someone else designed it, how well it did it is up to the player. The final choices still fallow the concepts of the main theme.

Hackett said it, Shepard said it several times.  The TIM/Anderson scene is just one example.  They don't directly say "It's impossible" but you know what I mean.  I never said what the Crucible did was up to the player.  Whatever, you think the choices follow the concept of the main theme, that's not even my problem with the ending, and this argument has been going in circles long enough.  You clearly think the ending is fine.  You're free to believe that.  I don't think there's anything else I could say to change your mind.

1. Hackett say he sees destorying the reapers are a better option, not that it's impossible to control them. Added he is the last person to know if the reapers can be controled.
2. Everything stated before on the debate on controling the reaper was made with a lack if info on it. With sactuary the consept went fron improbible to risky.

It clear your not even bothing to understand the new endings. I can understand why peopel hate the ending before ec , but post -ec it more like you just don't want to understand.

Controlling the reapers is something that would come back to bite you in the ass.

It's not that we don't understand. It's that the entire ending is just... dumb.

It won't distinguish the Geth from the Reapers because of the Reaper code they uploaded to themselves.

I thought that the whole subplot with Cerberus was to show just how impossible controlling the reapers really was. I mean... 5 minutes before the catalyst scene, you have Mr. Indoctrinated Tim showing u just how spectacularly he failed. Heck, he even has the same suicide scene as Saren if u go that route. That does not inspire confidence in control...

Because of the McGuffin nature of the catalyst, Bioware quite easily have given any number of consequences to this game. I say what it does... Only if u head in this direction, and do X thing, and sing "This Land is Our Land" backwards. Otherwise it will do Y and u would not like that. They tried to make it a difficult choice (was funny when my Shepard had already destroyed the Geth though, not the hardest decision to make) but it felt arbitrary. Might as well have chosen some other race to exterminate. I was still waiting for the "Humanity is gone, but the rest of the galaxy survives" option prior to shooting the stupid glowing panel of doom. Alas, what could have been.

Dreman, don't claim that I don't understand the new endings because I don't agree with you.  I think you're smarter than that.
