I fully support her in tweeting the names of those who raped and watched her. This is ****ing disgusting, i hope these lads get violated in every way possible.

http://www.dailymail...aulted-her.html

Pictures of herself being raped was shared among other people, what the **** is wrong with people these days?  If this happened to anyone i knew, i swear to god i will make sure my face haunts them for the rest of their lives.

But on the other side, something tells me she should not of gotten pissed in the first place.

I hate this country so much.

It's a crime to report the names of suspects on trial in the UK?

Wait is this in the UK or the US? It talks about the First Amendment yet it's a British newspaper...

Also the down voted comments actually deserve it for once.

She said she's from Louisville, which is in Kentucky. It has to be a state law that prohibits that, because I've never heard of such protection for suspects anywhere in this country. It's always been, you get arrested and it's fair game for the news.

Oh it's because they're juvenilles.

That's still moronic. They raped her and took pictures as well. They're old enough to be named.

Screw their human rights.

They lost their humanity when they raped that girl.

She violated a Court Confidentiality order.  There will be a contempt hearing, to determine if she deserves jail.

So this is not a federal, state or local law - it is a situation where she disobeyed a court order.

I happen to disagree with the court order in this instance, but gag orders are issued all the time.

I thought gag orders were issued to the press and jury. As far as I know, she's not a journalist and she couldn't be on the jury. Either way, most contempt charges are fines and almost never jail time.

A gag order can be issued against anyone, and those issued to the press usually extend to parties or witnesses as well.

Contempt of court almost always carries with it a "fine or imprisonment" type of sentence.  Look at instances of reporters being jailed for not reporting their sources on stories (probably doesn't happen much anymore).  Those are all for contempt of court, for disobeying a court order requiring them to do so.

In most cases, though, its a fine that's issued, not jail.

The last journalist I can think of that was jailed for not reporting a source was during the investigation of Valerie Plame Wilson's outing at the C.I.A. I don't think it's happened since. Considering that this is a Red state where they're "hard on crime" she'll probably get fined.

On the upside, we all just got a civics lesson!

I think the gag order was issued because the perps were minors, so perhaps they were not added to the registry, either.

I could've sworn even minor sex offenders are on the registry. Perhaps the gag order was issued because they were still in the sentencing process when she posted their names.

The good thing about this story is that whether or not she goes to jail, the reputation of her attackers is now publicly sullied. No punishment they mete out on her will erase their infamy. It's the least they deserve.

Ah that's why, juvenille hearing and contempt of court. The law is an ass, but it was fairly obvious that such a sentence would have been handed out to her for that action. But, then again, I don't condem her for doing that.

It's only fairness that she'd try to ruin their lives after what they did to her.

...I don't want to play the devil's advocate however, but reading about the circumstances of the assault, I'll say she could have used more precaution (like, not passing out drunk at a party).
