I wonder if the OP (Micah) has bounced. Think they fixed the 6th evo on sword mastery now. guide needs updating*

Using this guide again due to the post-patch fix. I dropped ES completely and will go full SS. Mmmmm .. time to go Phantom hunting ..

yes, you can't (yet) - seems to be an unintentional bug within the patch

Maybe I completely suck (or am too inexperienced, I just started random gold with the shadow), but I don't see how and why SS is better than ES.
ES can one-shot basic mobs, and empty the shield of most regular footmen. It's a cone-AE stagger too, that can stop Dragoons and the like. It can shot through walls, when you're in a tight spot or trying to kit a big baddie..
SS, on the other hand, bugs quite a lot (you target the enemy, spam your keyboard, but nothing happens, or it triggers on another guy who's three meters away from your target), only hits a single mob, puts you in danger most of the time, and the damage isn't really outrageous, compared to say, a Reegar/Piranha/Claymore.
I would like to like this spell, as it's really cool looking. But I just don't see its point. I'd rather hold off a couple off phantoms from afar with ES and a Reegar, than SS one of them to end up insta gibbed by the second one. Banshee will insta grab you most of the time, and if you trigger SS while you're facing a boss, there's a chance his next hit will stop you halfway and let you staggered in the open field.
Long story short story, I used the build offered in this topic, but I feel like I'm wasting points on SS. I rarely use it, except for the occasional Ravager/Phantom. And since it doesn't even work on Atlases for now, it feels even more useless.

After I finally unlocked my Shadow and I needed shadow strike and electric slash for my tech mastery I used this thread for building my Shadow and I have to say she really is awesome!
Thank you for this guide!
As I now have my mathemagician banner (the one I was aiming at right from the beginning as the technicians are one of my preferred classes) I now can relax a bit, need not do a lot of challenges, but can play and test her more. If by this way I get more challenges done, fine, if not, it is also fine.

*Bump* I just unlocked her and this seems to be the best thread for discussing her but no one has posted in a while, is this build still considered good?

You must be new here.
Really doesn't matter if this build is "considered good", buddy. If something's effective and works for you, go nuts. Totally up to you.

I only play top tier proven builds, not interested in wasting my time or anyone else's time in a Gold/Plat match with some terribad spec.

Build B is probably your best bet.
Only differences I personally like are:
-6B in Shadow Strike. Just adds a little survivability in the higher difficulties.
-Replacing 6 in her passive for 6 in fitness. Evolution really doesn't matter, just comes down to personal prefrence.

Not sure what to say to that.

Skill determines top tier. On paper DPS, efficency, etc is nothing if there is no skill.MofuggerX wrote...

Where did I say anything about lack of skill? I have skill, I just unlocked this character and asked if this guide/build is still optimal, no one has given me a clear answer. <_<
