Probably because Cullen is otherwise unobtainable? If Cullen was a romance option / one night stand option like Cammen he probably wouldn't have nearly the love he does. However, his fruit is forbidden and therefore more "sweet".

And what about you? Is your fruit forbidden?

My..fruit? Well it's not "technically forbidden"...but it's not freely given either...I can't believe I'm having this conversation...sigh I've played this game too much.

His (Zev's) dream sequence is also fairly informative, makes your heart melt towards him if it hadn't already.

I love Zevran, I just can't LOVE Zevran, because I have a phobia about germs.....

Zevran is awesome, there is no pickup line better than "prepare to be boarded."

Anyway, back on topic. I liked Cullen from the conversation in the mage origin. He was shy, and rather sympathetic toward mages in general. Then when I talked to him in the blue prison he creeped me right out. I mean, I felt bad for the guy, but I thought he needed psychiatric help, not sexual healing.

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing. Dragon Age has even seeped its way into my dreams on such a regular basis that I'm used to it now.

I think that if given the chance to pursue a more intimate relationship with the shy young templar during the mage origin, he probably would have turned out differently after the ordeal. I had a real soft spot for the guy, even after his torture-addled mind insisted we were all abominations. I was sad to read about his eventual snapping during the epilogue.

P.S. I too have an Uncle Bob!

If I wrote a Cullen "romance" it'd have to be creepy as hell.

Cullen: I just want you to know... I love you.
PC: I love you, too.
Cullen: No, no... I REALLY love you!
PC: Er... and I love you, too.
Cullen: You don't understand! I think about you all the time, every waking moment! I look at you and I... I want to touch your skin! I want to brush your hair!
PC: I don't...
Cullen: Ever since I saw you in the mage tower I wanted to protect you. Keep you somewhere safe. FOREVER.
PC: ...
PC: ...awkward.

I could totally have seen myself saying that once upon a time. Ah, the foolish ways of youth.

More food for the female Aposte mage origins DLC.

Runaway with Cullen, not Jowan and Lily drama.

I think the abomination takeover just brought out what was in his mind already.  Cullen's the icky one!

Cullen: As you were sleeping, you said my name. You spoke so clearly, at first I thought you'd woken.
PC: Wait, what?
Cullen: But you rolled over restlessly and mumbled my name once more, and sighed.
PC: How did you get into my sleeping quarters?
Cullen: The feeling that coursed through me then was unnerving, staggering...
PC: Whoa, hold on there. I don't want to know where this is heading, so I'm just... I'm going to leave now.
Cullen: You're like my own personal brand of lyrium.

I'm glad to hear this, after hanging around Swooping is Bad for long enough I was starting to wonder if my impressions of Cullen (female Surana was my first playthrough) were harsher than intended.

So, is his the name Cullen (like Twilight) a coincidence? Because Edward seems similarly creepy...

Hey - anyone else walk into Sten's cage after you freed him and then closed the door? That's like a preview of Cullen's idea of foreplay with your magelet... you know to keep you safe.

Er, that's nothing. Just imagine what you're missing here. A romance between Cullen and a female blood mage PC. Think of the drama, the emotions - nay, passions! You're wasting an excellent opportunity, really. :D

I think he should add in a love triangle with Swiftrunner, cover all the bases.
