If I wrote a Cullen "romance" it'd have to be creepy as hell.
Cullen: I just want you to know... I love you.
PC: I love you, too.
Cullen: No, no... I REALLY love you!
PC: Er... and I love you, too.
Cullen: You don't understand! I think about you all the time, every waking moment! I look at you and I... I want to touch your skin! I want to brush your hair!
PC: I don't...
Cullen: Ever since I saw you in the mage tower I wanted to protect you. Keep you somewhere safe. FOREVER.
PC: ...
PC: ...awkward.
Cullen: As you were sleeping, you said my name. You spoke so clearly, at first I thought you'd woken.
PC: Wait, what?
Cullen: But you rolled over restlessly and mumbled my name once more, and sighed.
PC: How did you get into my sleeping quarters?
Cullen: The feeling that coursed through me then was unnerving, staggering...
PC: Whoa, hold on there. I don't want to know where this is heading, so I'm just... I'm going to leave now.
Cullen: You're like my own personal brand of lyrium.
Well... the mage tower DOES have a basement....

Still not outside the realm of possibility, for Cullen at least. Heck, even Zevran might give it a go.

His (Zev's) dream sequence is also fairly informative, makes your heart melt towards him if it hadn't already.
I love Zevran, I just can't LOVE Zevran, because I have a phobia about germs.....
My heart melt for Zev?
Nah, I dont particularly enjoy the idea of saving someone whom will later try to kill me again. Thats like saving Sten inn hopes he doesnt try slaughtering us while we sleep.
What is this fascination with Cullen?
At first he was ok, but after the mage incident, he shows his zealoutry just like the head Templar of the tower does with the Rite of Annulment.
I can understand the squee for Alistair, because not only is his voice meaningful when he speaks but his emotions are genuine. He is funny and friendly and that makes him a pleasure to be around. Yes Leliana does this too and I would prefer her (though I made a male char just to play out the Morri scenario). But for Cullen, no, he can stay in the mage tower, and the idea of a stalker in the game... really? Dont we have enough shady males coming after us to kill us already?

You know I always assumed that this community went crazy for Cullen because they didn't realize the potential for creepiness there.
That his creepiness was pointed out by Gaider and caused MORE EXCITEMENT over the idea... well... I'm scared for women everywhere.

I still kill him without waking him up in 6 out of 10 games, but it is really well done and touching.

I don't see why I can't have one more entirely unstable and ready to snap person following me about.
I am gathering that I should be scared of Cullen. Why can't I just want to either poke him with a stick until he ruptures like an overripe melon and/or brush his hair and tell him everything's gonna be okay?
Lyrium body shots optional. I've been hurt before.

I think it would be really neat to have a Cullen DLC where he tries to come after your party and kill you/Wynne/Morrigan for being apostates/abominations/blood mages/whatever. And then you could kill him/redeem him/be merciful or whatever, or even kiss him I guess (barf!)
One of the funniest lines in the game is uttered by Zevran, if he is in your party during the "Cullen in jail" scene. He says something like, "My, my, someone was a little heartbreaker when she was an apprentice", and the timing, delivery, and facial movements of the party is comedic gold.
Also during the Cullen is in blue jail scene, instead of the PC saying, "I don't think I should be hearing this" ...you should change it to say, "...AWKWARD..."

As far as Cullen, I thought he was a great addition to the mage origin. Stumbling, shy, OMM (Oh My Maker) I'm in love with a mage at the beginning, tortured into fantatical mania later on. I quite liked it.
Although...the chance to "corrupt" him before the Harrowing would have been great.
PC: Oh, Cullen, I'm so frightened, I may die from the Harrowing! Hold me...
Cullen: I-I can't...it is forbidden...
PC: I will be gone, forever...would you deny me love in what could be my final hours? *sniffle, artful tear streaking down cheek*

It's the new in-thing. Respectful lovers are out, controlling, manipulative stalkers are in.

RIGHT!
See? you get me.
It's a game. We get to kill people in games. I don't kill people in real life. I also don't mess with delicate emotional machinery in a person like Operation in real life. But why can't I do it in a game?
So...murder good...fascination with personal and amusing wonkiness bad? I will never understand.

Reminds me of the "They say the templars watch us even as we bathe."
Male mage: Creepy...
Female mage: Pervert!

And yet I am giggling.
Well, evil option is to destabilize Cullen over a period of time until he murders Wynne and Morrigan and then is wrestled to the ground by Sandal. Then you can accuse him of being an abomination all along and then set Sten, Dog and Alistair on him.
Good option is to show Cullen that there's good in the world. And by good I mean sex.
But I'll just have to dream. And giggle.

I like the way you think. IRL, that SOB would have a restraining order slapped on him so fast, his head would spin. And I'd buy a gun. Also, I love the comparison to the sparkly Cullen someone made earlier. ROTFLMAO
In game... well.... it's fun to torture the tortured.
And like I said, those vows? CHALLENGE!
