Cullen has more options because he hates a whole diffuse group.  So I think that can be transferred to another diffuse group.  But I'd always be second to Duncan, Alistair's truest love.  Maybe if I'd worn the double blades or put my hair up in a ponytail...but I had too much pride...

He's distressed mostly.  In there's a good guy with a lotta rage.

You channel violent properly by fighting darkspawn all day and then having "I hate darkspawn" sex.   And if you're a mage, it can sorta blur in and out of "I hate darkspawn" sex to "I hate mages...but you're really really hot" sex.

In reality lots of very, very violent and angry people are that way because they're idealists.  Betrayed idealists.  Find their ideals and if you're lucky enough to actually agree with them, there you have a very loyal person because nobody else in the world gets them or saw past the violence or anger.

If you can shift Cullen's "I hate mages" to "I hate darkspawn" you've got a good shot at it.
