I have created a face I like for my elven female PC in the toolset but I cannot seem to stop the tips of her ears fom clipping her helmet, any tips for making ears like the character creator ones?

That is just funny to me... everyone else who posts about elves wants ears and wants toolset heads so they can have ears, and here you are... hehe. Anyway, the original preset female elf heads I've looked at, the "Ears Debug for Hair Crashing (Elf)" slider is set to 70+, which brings the ears closer to the head. I would suggest trying a combination of Hair Crashing at 45+, Ears In/Out at a negative number, Ears Down/Up at a negative number, and Ears Large/Small at a positive number to achieve the results you want. Alternatively, try a no helmet mod so you don't have to worry about it.

Dont use helmets, they make you so ugly (if they make your char better-looking, make a new one).

Cool, thanks. I agree the helmets don't really add to my character's appearance, are there any helmet mods that let you keep the stats they give and just remove the appearance of the helmets rather than equip/remove them?

No Helmet Hack causes the helmet to use the hidden cloak slot, keeping the stats, although it does cause some issues if the helmet is required for the set bonus. I have heard that it is not working properly with the patch, but cannot verify that.
