Kasumi could have become an Agent for Liara thus giving her a larger role in ME3 and a spot on our character selection screens.........ever think of that Bioware?

Would this have been a good idea? Considering Kasumi is a professional thief, hacker, etc. It would have been awesome and given her character more involvement. Maybe let her stay in the same room as Liara on the other computer? Just throwing ideas out there people for any signs of life lol

She was DLC that's only ever downloaded by a fraction of the total user base (and not even day-one DLC like Zaeed), and like every other ME2 character she could've been killed in the Suicide Mission. It's almost certainly not worth the resources to give her a larger role than the one she had, and certainly not as a squadmate.

I mean, she's a great character and I wish we could've got more content with a dozen characters including Kasumi, but at some point it's not worth the investment for the dev team.

She is DLC that not many people got, and first on the chopping board for mistakes in the suicide mission. Look at the lists, she is pretty near the top for death-order if you forget to upgrade.

Despite her 'minor' role in the series I found she was one of my favourite characters and her working for the Shadow Broker could of been a good idea.

ME2 allowed for too many deaths to ME3 have any really significant roles for ME2 squadmates. So it is either nothing at all (side quest) or strangely similar stand-in (main quest). Imagine that - "I'm Daiyu Lao, chinese master thief! Formerly second-best thief, now the best :o".

I know it’s not the game, and it takes a while to develop, but I think you might find Unity interesting.

Pretty much this.

Also, if Kasumi wasn't purchased as DLC wouldn't she technically be alive?

You could discuss this in the official Kasumi thread.

And don't give me the old "she can die/she's DLC" crap. They can get a generic replacement or distribute her contributions among other characters. Also remember the dextros? If they die, no replacement for them.

Indeed she is one of the most love-able characters you run into. Working for Liara would have been an obvious step.

Erm....Look at Mordin and Wrex. They were handeled perfectly despite Wrex's death in ME1 and Mordin's ability to die really easily even if Loyal in ME2. Mordin provides the emotional high of the entire game (I always finish the song through tears) and Wrex/Wreav put a different spin on the Genophage cure issue. DEATH OF A SQUADMATE ADDS DEPTH TO A MORAL QUESTION.

I'm sorry but the "DLC Character/ME2 Sidelined" excuse does not fly.

Even then, I can think of an easy solution to Kasumi never being purchased.

Kasumi: "Remember Keiji's Greybox?"

Upper/Paragon Reply: "Yeah, I thought you were going to keep those secrets safe!"

Lower/Renegade Reply: "Yeah, I thought we eraced the data."

See, The question over what to do with the Greybox is solved in a simple conversation discussion....
