The N7 Typhoon. A little too good?

I've used it on platinum and gold with ap ammo4 and rail amps, it's good but tbh I don't find it all that amazing. Takes like 60 shots to drop a brute :/

I'm sorry, what are you talking about now?
"Casuals who know they will never get the weapon, and therefore want it to be terribly so they don't feel bad for never getting it."
Wtf kind of logic is that? Who thinks that, beyond an child who hates when other people have better toys than them?
yes thats exactly what i said.
Personally i dont hate , i just try harder to achieve my goal , if there is a good wepon i ll just try get it instead of saying it ruins the rest of the weapons..
Of cource it does because it took me 4 freaking months to max it out .OK?

Think about this though, considering how long you're forced out of cover to maximize damage and how easy it is to get staggered, would the typhoon even be worth the risk if it was weaker than a revenant? Would you seriously choose to use it over a weapon that is safer to use?Metal Vile wrote...

But they should not be so good that they invalidate other weapons.
Commons, uncommons, rares and ultra rares.
If you had a Harrier, Saber or Mattock X would ever use an Avenger X?
If it was a decent weapon that was light, reloaded quickly, and was good for bursting down mooks in enclosed areas..... yes, yes I would.
But it's not quite good enough yet, therefore it needs a bit more buffing.
And don't say to just use a Carnifex; not everyone has the same preferences in weapon styles.
Having as many choices as possible be viable will always be better than having 5-6 weapons that dominate, and 30 weapons that are useless. This is why balancing is good, as long as it's done responsibly.
People only want to protect the new weapons because they're new and shiny; everyone is afraid a change of any kind will "ruin them forever". Mindless group think and clinging to things that make your life easier. The Harrier got a weight adjustment, which everyone cried about at the time; but look, it's STILL A GREAT GUN.
The Falcon got a significant nerf back in the day (perhaps a bit heavy handed), but it remains a useful weapon for its mechanics functions. It's possible to reduce something and not ruin it.

Typhoon VII. In Silver.
I died.
Typhoon I on Silver as a Turian Soldier against Geth on London. Took the highground the whole game.
I lived, but it wasn't easy. I still got stunlocked by Hunters and targeted by Rocket Troopers and Primes. The weapon made me a target and and was getting hit on multiple sides. With the weapons weight, I was only able to have a 50% cooldown on my Turian Soldier and I only had Marksman and Concussive shot, I used marksman as much as I could or needed but when I didn't I was spamming concussive shot at hunters.

A better test if the weapon is OP or not is in Platinum. Playing it in lower diffculties is like bringing a Cain into a room full of indoctrinated chickens

Obviously a powerful weapon. Too powerful? Maybe, but I'm sure some people will make the argument that "It's an UR, it should be over-powered!!". Personally, I disagree; while it should have some advantages compared to other guns, it should not clearly invalidate close to 50% of the other weapons in its class.
Except for the fact that at least 50% of the weapons in its class are ****? It's a pretty well known fact that the Assault Rifles in ME3 are dreadful poses, with a few exceptions.

its very heavy and so, it's ideal only for those who are depended on passives and don't need low power cooldown periods
it's actually of the *sighs* few assault rifles that do proper damage for weapon-dependent characters (e.g grenadier vorcha sentinel, n7 demolish and destroyer, etc)
i hope that won't be changed

Hmm.....I think we have a nerfer in disguise folks! The way you worded the title is a bit iffy. Why didn't you include the "or just right?" part? Hmm.......ghostbooty wrote...
So, I've been buying Spectre Packs like crazy lately. I have the Ultra Rare N7 Typhoon at level 7 now. Its an amazing weapon. I use it frequently in Silver games with the lvl 5 Extended Magazine and lvl 5 Stability Dampener. I also use lvl 3 or lvl 4 Armor Piercing Ammo with it, as well. The gun just shreds everything it hits. It takes down Atlases faster than the Reegar Carbine with the Shredder Mod. It does the same to Banshees, Phantoms, and Geth Primes. It almost seems unfair to use this weapon. Granted, I'm extremely happy that there is finally an Assault Rifle worth a darn. Although, I'd hardly call it an Assault Rifle. Its really a Light Machine Gun. I tell everybody to use it if they get the chance. Even at level 2 it was a beast. I'm almost afraid to see how good it is at level 10, when I eventually get it there.
Anybody else have any comments on the N7 Typhoon? Is it too good or just right? I like it the way it is and hope they don't change it. However, I know the "nerf everything" crowd probably adamantly thinks otherwise.
Thanks,
-Matt C.-
Anyway, you know exactly what kind of responses you'd receive. You should have put: "I Play Silver & The Typhoon Shreds Everything!" or something to that effect. It would have made A LOT more sense and saved you from any negative replies.......like mine. And they do call it a l.m.g.

I agree. Also if they could reduce or maybe just eliminate the spin up time it takes to fire it...that would be nice.

It's probably a bit too strong; at least compared to other AR's that aren't the Harrier. It actually has several variables / special mechanics built into the gun that, when combined, make the gun extremely powerful. Things like:
- It has a spool-up RoF. This is not a new mechanic, but it combines with...
- It has a heat up damage variable, similar to the Particle Rifle. It's only x2 damage compared to the PR's x4, but takes only 0.75 seconds to achieve the bonus, compared to the PR's 2 seconds.
- It has a BRAND NEW variable that caps the effect of damage reduction on the gun at 50%. This means the gun can never be reduced below 50% damage. This is likely the biggest reason the gun is so powerful, particularly against bosses.

Most assault rifles already invalidated themselves in people's eyes because they are just downright awful. Before the typhoon, honestly name the assault rifles you saw people using the most. It was probably the saber (an UR) the mattock, or the revenant.
