I've had ME3 since its release (X360) but only recently did I finally decide to grow a pair and do an Insanity run (the Insanity achievements are the only ones left for me to get and I'd like to tack ME3 up as another 100%). The entire game was a cakewalk (surprisingly), with the exception of the very last battle in London where you have to prep the missiles to kill the Reaper staring you down.

The exact spot where I'm stuck is the wave where there's two Banshees and what seems to be an infi-spawn of Marauders and Cannibals. That's my problem. Clearing out all the Marauders and Cannibals then focusing fire on the two Banshees would be a big help, but the damn things never stop spawning. I got lucky on one attempt and managed to kill one Banshee, but I couldn't do anything against the other one because I'm constantly dodging fire from the other enemies that seem to never die. Needless to say, I've died a couple times. "Couple" meaning like 10.

I'm using a level 60 Vanguard Shepard with the Energy Drain bonus power. Garrus and Liara are my squadmates. Only weapons I brought are the Mantis X and Tempest X with Incendiary ammo. It's kinda funny how this lackluster setup worked wonders IN EVERY OTHER PART OF THE GAME except this one.

Any tips on how to beat this thing? I'm about ready to go punch a small animal in the face because of the extreme annoyance of this mission...

Enemies have huge numbers and will not be defeated completely. They will come continuously.

Your mission is just defend and wait for missiles preparing.
You only need to defend yourself, move to another side of location if overwhelm. use medigel for unconscious companion.

When missiles are ready, rush to them and set.

Since you are in SP, you can do this. 1) Find a marauder or cannibal that is on the opposite side to you. 2) Shoot at Banshee and others. 3) When your shields drop or get low, open power menu. Target #1 and charge. Taking you away from the Banshees and beam.

Other rule of thumb, only use Nova if you are going to charge immediately afterwards. This is not the time to have no shields.

Ignore Nova entirely. Don't snipe either, gotta stay on your toes. Charge away from Banshees whenever possible. Also, in one of the buildings there is a Hydra missile launcher. I think there's actualy multiple. Use them; they're pretty darn nifty lol.

At the next part, where there's like...infinite Banshee spawns, there's also a spot that I found where the Banshees will teleport towards you, then the Reaper shoots them and instakills. Its like..some little rock that you crouch behind, behind the computer a little ways. It's been a while since I played SP, so I can't remember the EXACT spot, but its there somewhere.

Here is my AR Vanguard - Missile Battery

I basically just stay at the side and wait for the timer to expire, that's how I do it with nearly every class.  The Marauders are of course the worst part, so try to keep obstacles in between you and them.  I typically like to save the Hydra to try and clear the trash before I run to the button, but it is up to you.

What is your build?  The weapon choice is fairly strange, and this is coming from a guy that liked Viper Vanguard in ME2.

It is harder on Xbox to use all your squad's powers effectively so don't spare the power wheel / HUD / pause if need be.  It is helpful to use Singularity and Overload to try and get some CC on the low tier enemies.  Alternatively I suppose you could use Stasis.

I have never bothered to try and get enemies killed by the beam since I just wait at the other end of the map.  I basically do the same thing regardless of class.

Nice run. I didn't realize using Charge would be so effective. I typically did the Energy Drain spam + Pull + Shockwave combo burst (or Energy Drain spam + snipe) deal on the Marauders, then using Energy Drain like a madman on the Banshees then light them up when their barriers go down. That's obviously not the best tactic for me lol.

I'll try your strategy the next time I get on. If it works, I'll nominate you for world leader. Sound good? :P

Use the big ass reaper that's shooting at you with his laser to clear out the enemies.
