Let's support each other ...
Man, I really wish we could unite the fandoms for a while, just to get EA/BW listen and produce a more or less romantic centered set of DLCs for each LI character.

Have mine, by the way. There's a link leading you to a more general romantic DLC support thread in the OP as well.
Kaidan and Ashley centered DLC

Stand fast, stand strong, stand together.

@OWA Good morning - you've got mail :D

Now that I am here ...

I'd like to see a deeper friendship arc for Cortez and Shepard if not romanced. Steve is no-way a Garrus or Vega, but in a way he could work as perfect talk-buddy. You know what I mean?

In ME2, it was Mordin who suggested ideas in romantic relationships and even joked with Shepard around. Kasumi had a similar role, just less sophisticated.

In ME3, Garrus and Vega are your big buddies, but they never talk about Shepard's LI. And actually, both don't fit that role. Cortez, on the other hand, does fit: I can see him and Shepard sometimes talking about Shepard's relationship with another LI.

Really wonder if BW could expand Cortez' role here.

Traynor can't take this role, she's ... dunno ... different. In some ways I can see her as the playful one, highly intelligent and maybe a tad hedonist. At least we know she loves luxury stuff. So if her role gets expanded, I think she and Shepard (as friends) should have some exciting fun together on the Citadel, maybe dancing, enjoying the day.
However, as I said, I think Traynor is very intelligent, they also might have some talks where she's concerned about future and the time "after the war". Samantha could take that role as the one who speaks her mind in the field most fans do too. Can't see her going into details with Shepard's LIs 'though.

I was just wondering how would you guys & gals have felt if Bioware would have made both Steve and Samantha Bi Sexual like Kaiden was in Mass Effect 3.

Personally I would have loved a Bi Sexual Samantha because when I first saw her I was immediately interested in her but when I found out she was a Fem Shepard Exclusive I was let down.

Gays everywhere would have complained about them not being gay-exclusive. Apparently playing for both teams is a bad thing.

I dont think anyone needs attention first... Look at ME2, ME1 fans (including me) wanted their ME1 Li's to get some attention, ME DID start with ME1.... and then ME3 came and the ME1 Li's got most time and the ME2 fans wanted their Li's to have more attention but what should the ME3 fans do then? There isnt going to be a ME4 as to my knowledge

Very true. And even if there is ME4, it obviously won't feature Shepard & squadmates/LIs from the trilogy. Sam & Steve fans only have time with them in ME3

I do appreciate Bioware adding two gay characters to ME3, gay people aren't represented very well in video games and I think Cortez and Traynor are both great characters. But honestly I wouldn't have minded if they'd been bisexual, I don't think people should have to miss out on Traynor just because they are playing BroShep. Although I did love the scene where Traynor turns BroShep down so it would have sucked to lose that. I'd be willing to make a deal though, make Traynor available for BroShep but in return Miranda or Ashley become available for FemShep ;)

Great thread, Isaac! I definitely support this. I'm really happy both characters were introduced in ME3, and I don't want them to be forgotten about as new content is created.

Also, I'd personally love for Sam to get off the Normandy at least once (but just having more lines with her would be nice too).

But as I said I support all the Romances getting more Content with DLC and thats a rarity because most fans want their Chosen LI to be given more but at the same time doesn't want the others to be worked on either and thats just plain Selfishness and more importantly Stupidity.

I think that the fact is that considering that the Shepard Trilogy is over even if Bioware does make Mass Effect 4 they will most likely not bring anybody from the Shepard Trilogy back except maybe Liara "Could because of Asari Lifespan" but no one else really makes sense in my opinion.

And if they go the Prequal route then none of Shepards Dirty Dozen or The Mass Effect Originals will be available either it wouldn't make sense in my opinion.

Definitely. Citadel/Omega date for Sam is a must, it's a but weird that she's the only LI not to get off the Normandy. Meanwhile Steve needs a hot shower scene with mShep

Think it's more a trade off for my. My primary LI is Ashley - and of course I want some more content for her. But I know it's impossible to convince BW to do a DLC just for her or Ash and Kaidan without support of the fandom.

The same issue works against any other romantic centered DLC: the fandoms are too separated, but actually, we should work together, support each other to get what we want. Means: if Liara's fans want more content for Liara, I won't hesitate to support them, if it nets me their support for a VS centered DLC. Same for any other romance. Especially ME2!LIs deserve some justice.

I think that the fact is that considering that the Shepard Trilogy is over even if Bioware does make Mass Effect 4 they will most likely not bring anybody from the Shepard Trilogy back except maybe Liara "Could because of Asari Lifespan" but no one else really makes sense in my opinion.

Well, you can also add Wrex here. Sure, he's already old in the trilogy, but no one knows how old a Krogan could get - they usually die by violence and not by natural causes.
Same for Wreav, by the way.

And if they go the Prequal route then none of Shepards Dirty Dozen or The Mass Effect Originals will be available either it wouldn't make sense in my opinion.

Well, the third option is to reboot the entire series. Which could happen in five years - 10y aniversary of original Mass Effect.
I doubt that's going to happen, but given the fact how many potential was wasted with the series, especially in the third part, it's an interesting option. Retell Shepard's story - this time, do it right.

^^

And yeah, I'd introduce Kai Leng much earlier for instance, in ME2, maybe even as ally of Shepard. I would remove Starchild, look for a different solution in the end - you name it. And I would make the game more consistent when it comes to LIs and character development.

At least I want to see at a kiss between Samantha and Shepard.
You never see that they kiss.
Not even in the romance scene before the Cerberus-headquarter. :?

Do what I did with Steve. Make a Shep for him... or her in your case since you're interested in Samantha. ^_^

More content for all LIs. Just bring back the VO actors to do more content. Steve and Sam both got shafted in the EC.

Okay, for a start, correct terminology. Bisexual. Not Bi Sexual. Bisexual. (PCsexual means the Non-Player Character Love Interest in question will fall for the Player Character no matter their gender, but otherwise seems to be written "straight" or without an obvious sexuality in mind.)

Secondly, I'd hate it. Nearly every same sex option in Bioware games has been bisexual to one extent or another (whether that is written to be bisexual, like Isabela (or Liara), or is PCsexual like Fenris and Merril), there is only ONE "monosexual" same sex option in any Bioware game that I can think of. I'm betting most people in this thread don't even know who I'm talking about... Needless to say it was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, the romance was bugged and vague, and it was treated as lesser compared to the "straight" option.)

Thirdly - it's an issue of representation. You might whine and cry to have your exclusively straight character changed to be bisexual (like Kaiden, who seemed straight before ME3) - but heterosexual characters are a dime a dozen. Very few characters in games are gay (bisexual is a whole other can of worms, I might add) - taking a gay character and making them bi or straight hurts. It literally hurts. We might not be aware of it, but we look for reflections of ourselves in our entertainment, and when we don't see it - it sends a bad message. That somehow we are lesser or wrong or broken somehow. Its almost a subliminal thing that you don't notice, but it is there, it is part of the thing that wears on a person's soul.

Fourthly - the only way I'd be okay with it (and even then only grudingly so) is if another female character (Ashley or Miranda, but I'd prefer the former) became bisexual as well. (Or alternatively, if they made every single last love interest character bi or PCsexual.)

I was just posting a hypothetical you know so chill out and by god no way in hell should Bioware pull that Everyone is Bisexual BullS*** again that really was a weak decision that didn't pay off in Dragon Age 2 and honestly as bad as that game seemed I felt that it was a extremely cheap sequal to Origins in every aspect period.

@CaptData
I agree completely man the Fanbases need to unite because you saw what happened with the Ending Fiasco imagine if every Fanbase united and started raising H*** Bioware would have to seriously consider releaseing Romance Related Content or even DLC dedicated specifically to the Romances.

I feel you bro in regards to Ashley I hate how Poorly she was handled in Mass Effect 3 I loved her Character in Mass Effect and stayed loyal to her throughout the trilogy and let me tell you after seeing how awesome Liara's Romance was I felt Slighted seriously Slighted.

i imagine that the Samantha/Steve romances were meant to be a kind of fill-in-the-blanks thing. still support more romance content in general but in my mind the scene before the cerberus base between fem!Shep and Sam kinda implies that they had more than one romantic encounter like the shower scene ("If there's any hot water left")

Agreed!

And good morning @Data, writing pm now ;-)

I am not gona go into details cause I promised my bsn bro @Beep that I would be careful with my comments and not get myself banned while he is away this week but I dont believe in making all characters bisexuals or pcsexuals or what ever and ESPECIELLLY not Ashley, dont touch her! Dragon age was unreaslistic.... And bad...... BUT I am supporting more Sam and Steve ;-)

Edit: I meant Dragon Age 2 was bad and unrealistic... Origins was good ;-)

You better don't get yourself banned, OWA. You kinda keep that thread running and several others too.

Still not yet in the Ash thread by the way? You asked for "permission" to visit us *g*
Didn't know we need to hand out permissions 'though. Every day something new to learn I guess ...

You don't have to write dialogues to be part of the fandom ;)
There's still stuff to discuss left and, of course, the first dialogue is the most difficult one. You'll get better, I promise ^^

Back to Steve and Sam.
Did I mention I love the name "Samantha"?
