Egads and gadzooks! It's a positive thread! In the DA2 forum! The DAII Darkspawn are pefect. Please don't change them in DA3. This thread is bound to sink without trace in seconds because the community  seems to struggle with any positive emotions it has. :wub: I love you, :wub: community.:wub: Is the feeling mutual?

Perfect in what way, mate? Perfect visual design? Maybe. Perfect battle tactics? Certainly not. Perfect use within the story? Maybe.

I don't know about perfect...

But the Genlocks in DA2:Legacy are WAY more interesting and cool than in DA:O. And the Alphas and Emissaries are also better designed. Ogres are different, but I don't have a preference one way or the other. The only weak point, in my opinion, is the Hurlocks. They're a bit too... cartoony? Not bad, mind you, just feel like DA:O had better Hurlocks. But all in all, I agree. I like DA2's Darkspawn better.

I liked the DA2 darkspawn. I think the hurlocks need to work on their posture and the ogres would look better with armor, but I do like them.

I actually preferred DAO darkspawn; they were more disgusting looking and menacing. I am way more repulsed by the darkspawn of DAO than I am of DA2.

Awakening had the best darkspawn.

The Hurlock Alphas and the Genlock redesigns are the only ones that get my approval, armor and weapons they use notwithstanding.

The rest should be wiped off the face of existence, because they suck. DAO's Ogres were perfect, DAO's Hurlocks needed minor tweaking at most (the Disciples were badass), and the Shrieks also needed minor tweaking.

The difference seems to be that DAO darkspawn look and move like an army; DA2 ones look and move more like upright beasts. Which is better would be a matter of taste, in the end.

The only redesign that gets my (very minor) approval is the genlock, but they need to be made smaller. I also don't like that they walk on all fours.

I agree only for the Genlock Alphas. They need to be bigger then the Genlock grunts but smaller then a Hurlock grunt.

DAII darkspawn are the failure's minions. They are fail incarnate! They make Rob Shneider wanna go out, and run over puppies! For fun!... Assuming he doesn't actually do that.

Little known fact: if you say "Bloody Mary." three times in the mirror, DAII darkspawn pop out, tear off the skin from your flesh, take it back into their fail world, and cook it in a boiling pot, with brusselsprouts, bok choy and That-Which-Must-Not-Be-Mentioned... BEETROOT!

If BioWare doesn't fix them up in DA3, the world will cry!

TBH the only way they could improve the Hurlocks in DA2 would be to give them goofy teeth and make them boss eyed.
