ME3 was a financial success, so there were no mistakes made from EA's perspective.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Couple things, which have already been beaten to death with a horse.

Different teams, which may or may not have interaction and learned from the other. Second, EA's fiscal deadlines may prompt DA3 to be pushed out as well. EA's economic progress is... confusing, with the enormous profit and share net gains, while simultaneously losing hundreds of thousands of subscriptions in their MMO alone. Not including the angered and resentful fanbase from DA2 and ME3.

Might be several situations that can promp a flop, they could nail the story but have the worst interface and gameplay with the multiplayer import thingajig they're including. The story could be terrible, with a high focus on this import and improved the combat. Likewise, they could have an extra year of development time, and cut it short because EA decides to plug the funding.

If they want to succeed, they need a happy medium between the prequels, the new game, the old niche fanbase, while trying to expand to newer players. TW2 is overrated, but it succeeds by its bland merits alone. DA2 failed because they tried a few radical steps that only improved parts of the combat system (while systematically dumbing parts of the classes).

Like ME3, my gut says wait and see. The whole DA enjoyment has long wore off on me, even if I have all of the official DLC for the 360. (didn't play DA2)

He has been incharge since he was joint Manager and funder of Elevation Partners, when they owned Bioware before ME1.

Rumors have been circulating that Peter Moore is on the rise. EA's quarterly numbers may cause a shake-up in management.

Will that make a difference?

Peter Moore has been in the video game business since the SEGA Dreamcast. He was Microsoft's go-to guy to make the Xbox and Xbox 360 successful. He has several video game-related tattoos, including one for Halo 2 and GTA IV. Moore is a video game guy.

Riccitiello is a business guy. He believes the future of video games is in microtransactions. He thinks charging a customer for more ammo is a wonderful idea.

I saw that already, I'm just not familiar with these people.

I'd rather not have a Halo guy lashing the whips to Bioware, though.
We don't need DA 3 to be a sandbox with first-person cover-based shooting.

EA is impossible to change. It's gotten too big. Shareholders are used to their way of thinking. Even if JR goes, next big name will have similar thoughts.

Corporate culture affects from top to bottom and employees are eager to please employers. Or should I call it indoctrination? The only kind of game EA could be good at...year round business, sports games, NFS, etc. Let's just hope popcap can do reasonably well under them.

Peter Moore has said the same thing about microtransactions.

The difference is that Moore believes all games will be free-to-play with microtransactions, while Riccitiello has made no real effort in pushing EA in that direction. It would also be bad for business if a company's COO didn't repeat the CEO's party lines.

I think they will attempt to learn their mistakes from ME3, but knowing them they are just going to screw up badly somewhere else.

So instead of paying for game essentials which was a minor flop on a Businessman's part.  We should pay for full customization and character depth like League of Legends?

Dead Space has been moderately successful, minus one animated film.

There's no difference at all, it's still the same "charge people to reload" philosophy.

of course not, they made money, EA have never cared about ruining a game company so long as they get their money out of it, they've already killed several companies before and will likely ruin more until they themselves finally fail

Have you seen what they're doing with Dead Space 3? Maybe it's early, but I'm honestly not looking forward to that.

No, if I hype it for myself or let others explain to me everything they're doing, I'll either expect too much or might accidentally jump on a band wagon.   I have never followed Dev hype beyond a few letters, and its the reason why I never cared for the Fable games or ME3 beyond my own enjoyment.

DS2 exceeded my expectations, despite a handful of sprite scenes and the common rumors that the game wouldn't have the same effects of DS1.  If you're refering to the Co-op thing that I have no idea about, similar to RE5, I can see why everyone would be panicking.

That kind of prep has braced me for failures like ACV.

I'm not so sure.

It sounds like DA3 is getting more time, but this may also come with a mandate for them to do more (like add multiplayer, or change engines).

I don't think EA is simply going to change from shoveling games out every year. BioWare is making money now, so their instinct is probably to use it as much as possible while it's still profitable, not to sustain and extend its viability at the expense of short-term profit.

Remember EA believes that multiplayer is the future and that for a game to be a success they MUST sell at least 5 million.
