I was just wondering if there's a difference between having Dr. Chakwas or Dr. Michel aboard. EMC value or story?

There is no EMC bonus for having either one but there is a nice story moment with Dr.Chakwas, I think that Dr. Michel is more for the people who killed Chakwas in the Suicide Mission.

Shipping Chakwas off to the Crucible nets you 10 War Assets, while leaving Dr. Michel on the Citadel gives you nothing. Chakwas, however, will have more unique lines aboard the Normandy, while Michel often makes the same general comments when you talk to her. They both give you that little side-mission to trade medical supplies on the Citadel and both will give you a medi-gel upgrade if you complete it.
So, I think it's mainly a matter of personal preference. The ten War Assets from Chakwas are negligible and both really don't have that much to say aboard the Normandy. I never liked Chakwas that much, so I just tend to alternate between them. During my previous playthrough I chose for Michel, so during my current playthrough I picked Chakwas again.

I didn't know Chakwas could get war assets, I still like the little story section you have with her though, as you said all to do with personal preference.
